Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2024-2025

Terrible first 4 minutes, passes intercepted left and right on the breakout and allowed a breakaway. Finished good and created better chances. Too many icings too.

A lot better period. It's kind of period you want to see when you've got the change into your own o zone. Murphy had a couple undesirable events and they did allow a partial and full breakaway - which led to a penalty being called. I would say that it been a not been a very good weekend for the defenseman, with one period to go. Makes me nervous allowing Mankato to hang around.

The penalty was signaled as a hold on Venusio, when she extended her stick hand - and ONLY her stick hand - in front of the Mankato skater.

How do you hold with only your stick hand while holding your stick?

He obviously felt compelled to call something because the person with the puck fell down. I really didn't see any infraction either.
 
I was on Instagram and saw a picture of a couple players wearing these killer jackets that looked like a men's jersey. Now that is something I'd be compelled to purchase. Wow those are cool.
 
Read a blurb somewhere that the 22-1-1 record is the best record of any UW team in program history after 24 games. As fans we should definitely be enjoying the ride. That being said I do get caught up in the imperfections inside the record as they could be deadly at the worst possible time. The play of the D at the offensive blueline was pretty bad last weekend, way below the standards set by the team. They were leaky in the game in Chicago as well. If UW was playing a more talented team last weekend, both games could have ended badly.
 
The website "Women's Hockey Commitments" has tweeted that Pieckenhagen has committed to the Tommies. All her social media still shows affiliation to UW. Hmmmm Watts is going on here?

I questioned them on it and then they released a tweet that said she was committed to Wisconsin lol. Talk about giving a guy heart failure.

It's a Twitter regurgitation of this website: https://www.therinklive.com/sports/college/womens-d1-commitments.

Pieckenhagen is only a column or two away from the St. Thomas recruits so it was probably a formatting error.

It looks like its finally being updated again; it was so far behind for a long time that I started keeping my own spreadsheet.

Yeah they are flooding the Tweeder with tons of commits the last few days. The timing seemed odd but it seemed odder UW was losing a recruit to the Tommies LOL.
 
I decided to take my daughter to the men's game Friday night, so sadly I won't be able to watch the women's game live Friday. I hope to watch it later in the weekend, though I still need to also watch the baseball game as well.....
 
While attending the men's game and peeking in on my daughters phone was a little freaked out when the shots were like 8 7 in the first period but then UW stretched it out a bit which was a relief.
 
Edwards with the natural hat trick. It's kind of crazy how she like shows no emotion when she scores. It works for her, it's very non-typical.

She's deceiving when she skates too because she looks like she's hardly moving, suddenly she's in the perfect spot to snipe, and her teammates do an exception job putting the puck on her tape. Nice job on the hatty!

Now try to stay onsides Badgers.
 
Double hatty watch....Woz had 2. Wox and Picard had a 2 on 0 and Picard should have passed lol.
Allowed 2 odd player rushes so far, not acceptable.
