Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2023-2024

A good number of tickets - maybe 100 or more - are right now available online at the UW web site for tomorrow's game. 12:20 PM Friday.

Guess St. Lawrence isn't bringing a band; the whole corner section reserved for the opposing band is open.

Neither team had a band - real or "hired" - last night.

(Some years ago, Harvard hired some high school band to show up in Harvard sweater-shirts and play their fight song, etc. It was ridiculous and hilarious.)

The number of tickets available is down to ten, all in that last section against the wall, where you can't see the video board.

(I've sat there a half-dozen times, post-COVID or when I was getting over a cold, and wanted to be away from people as best I could. They're not horrible, but as I said, no video screen.)

----------------------

1:40 PM, and they're gone.

. Bottles don't work so well when you want to pour yourself a mixer.

Need the ice. ;)

Trying to get the grandkids a little more jacked up huh? I guess I'll have to try that once I bring my first grandchild to her first hockey game hopefully next season. I can't wait for there to be three generations of Timothy A's rooting on the Badgers in the stands. Little Kinley it's going to have more Badger clothes in her wardrobe than I have lol. It's just that they'll grow them so darn quickly. I love her so. It'd be really cool to drag my mom or dad to a hockey game next year so there's four generations, but they really can't stand hockey. I must be some sort of freak. Maybe the mailman was born in Minnesota lol.

Nervously excited of course for the game. Play a great defensive game, don't give them any easy opportunities. One or two mistakes and it could be curtains for us. That includes taking a stupid penalty. Just play up to your capabilities and let's see how it goes. Let's go RED!!!!!!

Just read an article about Simms on cap times website and it was good to read that MJ wants her to shoot the puck more. Me too. Let's go RED!!!!

Refs having a rough afternoon.

only way SLU can hang is by playing over the line physically and the refs letting them get away with it. And here we are.

The saints are very chippy. Hustler is a mini Abby Murphy.
From what I saw on Thursday, Hustler is quite a bit bigger than Murphy.

Long review to nullify a potential Badger goal. Not sure what took so long.

Two first period trips that went uncalled. On one, Britta had a half-step on the defender, it was almost worthy of a penalty shot. Really bad non-calls.

Have never seen any of the officials before. Assuming from Hockey East. Definitely some Eastern bias in those calls and no -calls

The woman was Chelsea Rapin, who has reffed in the Olympics, and I think has done an NCAA championship or two. Played at Vermont, lives in Vermont. Hockey East ref, I think.

The man was Dmitrii Antipin, also Hockey East, sometimes men sometimes women.

I agree that they missed a few tripping calls on SLU, but there was nothing that came close to the level of deserving a penalty shot, in my opinion.

The thing I couldn’t believe was that the male ref refused to go talk to MJ after disallowing the goal. The coach deserves an explanation instead of the ref hand waving him off

Antipin was out of his depth. His body language on the ice, the indecisiveness while reviewing videos, talking into his collar when announcing penalties, nothing he did inspired confidence in the officiating. May he spend the rest of his days reffing high school games somewhere east of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I don't know which was more embarrassing, that newbie male ref or that Olympic female ref who called nothing. You think she'd know what a penalty would look like. Just about any moron can call a tripping call for heaven sakes. The one on Curl was egregious. Apparently the matching penalties were complete joke. There was no trip.

Pretty pathetic the band ran out before playing varsity but the crowd singing it without them was pretty cool.
