Wisconsin vs Total Recall

Re: Wisconsin vs Total Recall

Bullshiat. Massive voter fraud in the U.S. would be headline news. At hte least, we'd hear about elections being thrown out and re-done if it was ever proveable.

I'm not sure if you're a liar, or just someone susceptible to scare tactics. But it's clear you're one or the other.

You do recall in 2000 the St. Louis judge who ordered inner city precincts to stay open for a few extra hours don't you? It is the law in very nearly all jurisdictions that if a voter is in line when the polls are scheduled to close, he gets to vote, no matter how long it takes. But you'd need a couple of extra hours to round up winos, bums, felons, illegals and various other friends of Democrats, load 'em on to busses and get 'em to the polls.

Saw that. Pretty wary about trusting exit polls (especially with 3 hours of voting left), but maybe.

Possibly we're recalling the exit poll cluster bleep in '04 when they had some unbelievably lopsided results in favor of Kerry. My very liberal partner at the time was beside herself with joy, but the actual vote totals turned out to be somewhat different.

Clear to you perhaps, you are such a pleasant polite gentleman, you could never possibly be wrong since you already know everything.

Re: Wisconsin vs Total Recall

We're just whiling away the time 'till the polls close in Wisconsin. :D

Provided that they are not left open an extra two hours.....

what a scam that was....they "ran out" of ballots, then held the polls open an extra two hours, during which time additional people were taken by bus to the polls.

It wouldn't have been so bad if they merely said, everyone who was here by 8 can stay late until their vote is cast, but when they start letting people in after 8....

in an election that was decided by about 5,000 votes overall.

Of course, we all know how "right wing" the Hartford Courant is, eh?

and who investigates this? the Democrat Attorney General? the Democrat Secretary of State? yeah.

which it was, for weeks. I suppose that since you just learned to read recently you didn't see those headlines in 2010? It is impressive how well you use the internet for someone with your maturity level.

Whatever crap Walker pulls to rig the election, I'm sure that the people will win and the Koch brothers will lose.

Since I grew up during the regime of Daley I, you can understand the respect I have for the evidently limitless creativity of Democrats to "enhance" their vote totals. And it continues to this very day. After the close race in Florida in '00, we created the so-called "provisional" ballot which allowed people who were being denied the opportunity to vote (name change, residency change, death, felon, etc) an opportunity to vote, with the decision as to whether to count that vote coming later.

Democrats lobbied hard for "voters" not to be required to cast these ballots in their precincts of record, like the rest of us. It's much easier to drop off a busload of derelicts at one location, then head back to the streets to find more.

The top hit on google is a fox news story which has about as much substance as the allegations against the woman in Wisconsin from Waukesha County.

In other words, there's a lot of innuendo, and not a whole lot of facts. So yeah, I'm still calling bull**** on that one.

That's not voting fraud, almost by definition. Fraud implies an illegal act. A judicial order is pretty much the opposite of an illegal act...

I'm all in favor of not discussing politics or religion at family gatherings. Nobody needs to hear Uncle Bob's Larouchite conspiracy theory, and in those settings it's always the Uncle Bobs who talk with the loudest voice.

The stupid are always the most bellicose and the most self-confident.

I think the phrase "seldom right but never in doubt" is applicable.

Re: Wisconsin vs Total Recall

We have about 30 minutes until the polls close...

Anybody want to go on record as to the final tally?

Re: Wisconsin vs Total Recall

like that district in Minnesota in which more votes were cast for Al Franken than there were registered voters?

I'll see your anecdote and raise you (some other anecdote).

Then you respond "Oh yeah? Well do you remember (anecdote #3).

At which point I say sure. It was almost as bad as (anecdote #4).

I'd just as soon skip it and watch the Celtics-Heat.
