Wisconsin vs Total Recall

Re: Wisconsin vs Total Recall

Actually, they didn't. Only the state police who were in Walker's back pocket.

There were firefighters at the protests even though they wren't targeted at the time.

The ones I'm laughing at are the salt of the earth types who supported this guy and voted for him 3 times. Many are now like, wait... what?

Again... YOUR boy... YOU voted for him.

People have a difficult time admitting they were wrong. I have a friend, though, who is a lifelong Republican and a former party officer at the state level who thinks this guy is a bad dude. Not just a weak or flawed governor and candidate, but a bad dude.

I have a coworker who's involved in the republican party in menomonee falls (which, given that they keep electing Jim sensenbrenner, is going GOP all the time no matter what), and even those guys aren't big fans of Walker. But they want him anyway because of hard line party politics and the fact that their candidate would have to be Kim Jong Un in order to be seen as worse than any other option.

He is a bad dude. None of what he's done has been an effort to better Wisconsin. Every move from the beginning has been orchestrated to position himself for a presidential run.

He's simply done what the donors have asked of him so as to secure their financial support. He's scary.

Luckily, college dropout doesn't usually play on the national stage although C average did not all that long ago. We'll see.

Re: Wisconsin vs Total Recall

Back to the people who are now shocked at what he's doing...

I was saying all along, look at the national platform and that's what he's going to do. To his credit, he's actually been more aggressive than the national platform.

He flat out said that he wasn't in favor of right to work. He's signing the bill on Monday.

We have vaginal ultrasounds now. Voter ID. School Vouchers that only white people with money are using.

He's planning on privatizing senior care. Yep - that'll be great for our elderly - let capitalism take care of them.

Degrading the UW system.

And on and on and on.

Divide and conquer.

A dangerous man (puppet).

The final irony will be when it's the GOP that actually comes for your guns.

No one will see that one coming. :D

You have to think Dems are salivating a little thinking about ways they will go after this guy, but maybe that's giving voters too much credit, which is an extremely low bar to clear.

All dropping out of college proves is that he saw through the dangerous liberal brainwashing in time.

And did not want to bankrupt his future with oppressive student loans.

What would be wrong with an auto mechanic for president?

That would certainly be consistent with Walker's economic proficiency: he had a semester left. So, he poured money down the hole for three and a half years then decided to stop just short of graduation to avoid financial harm? That sounds like our guy.

I don't have student loans. In the mid-to-late 80s, my parents paid into the "Michigan Education Trust" - a socialist program that paid for my in-state tuition (but not room & board) at the institution of my choice. Ultimately, that was MTU from 2005-2009.

Other than the fact an auto mechanic would be as qualified for president as I would be fixing your car, nothing.

That actually does sound like him. But the idea of him doing it just to try to shove it in the face of anyone to the left of him in service of petty rhetoric? There are few things that scream "Scott Walker" quite so loudly.

Maybe it just screams GOP?

Lindsey Graham who is now apparently likely to run for President said on Meet the Press this weekend that he's NEVER sent an email. He sits on the technology sub-committee and co-sponsored anti-spam legislation.

You cannot make this stuff up.

I bet he's never diagnosed a patient for a medical concern either, yet he's going to vote on HHS and CDC concerns, too. He's never served in the military or built a car, that doesn't stop him from casting votes impacting those things.

All of our elected officials cast votes for and against things upon which they're not qualified experts. Should we require them to recuse themselves from those votes in the future? We'll see some pretty small vote counts on most bills going forward.

Probably. But, I'll bet that most Congressman gravitate to areas that they have expertise in and if not they at least learn about the subject matter they are voting on. But, you go ahead and think otherwise.

"Okay, sir, the bill is ready to be introduced on the floor. How can we get more than 10 congressmen to be eligible to vote on this one?"

"Oh, Christ, I don't know. Maybe throw in an amendment about prostitution, bribery and corruption amongst government officials?"

How do you know he didn't learn about email? If someone explained to him what the issue at hand was, and he asked questions about it, is that not learning? I don't know if he did or didn't (probably not), but I won't make assumptions. Do you have to use something in order to learn about it? I've never built an engine from the ground up, but I know some stuff about how an engine works. Mechanics and automotive engineers are much better positioned to answer questions about them, but I have learned some things about them over my years on this planet.

It's also why they have aides*, advisers, campaign benefactors and lobbyists: to fill their empty heads with whatever information they can process.

* If this was a verbal conversation, this is where I would have to specify "The assistant, not the disease"
