Wisconsin Recruiting V - Does it even matter?

D Boston Buckberger was the Brooks Bandits player of the game yesterday, scored 2. Goal #2 he was maybe down too low to bury the rebound LOL. His partner slid over to his side and a F slid up and filled his partner's vacated spot on the other side, so the team acted perfectly.

5 future Badgers are rated C by the NHL scouting guru's....Brown, Buckburger, Jugnauth, Mehlenbacher and Pierre. No first rounders this year but that's not a big deal. Just need solid college players.

Per TDM, Ben Dexheimer has flipped from Miami to UW. He is a D out of MN who is playing for the Caps. Stats read like he has some offensive instincts. He was heading to Miami for the 22-23 season.

If my math is right UW has 12 F inked for next year, not counting any 5th yr guys, and according to TDM, 8 other F's that could arrive at UW.
On D there are 9 D inked for next year not counting any 5th year guys, and according to TDM's chart another 5 that could arrive at UW.

All I can say is that it's very interesting and I don't know if any are high end guys or not. There's a sweet spot between the Holloways of the world and the Ryder Donovan's of the world. TG hasn't really found that spot. I think Matty DsPh is a guy like that, maybe Bantle.

The problem here is Wisconsin tried to hard to grab the NTDP players and focused on the big fish and lost out recently. In the process they ignored and are not looking at the uncommitted 20 year old's coming out of juniors that are starting their upwards development process and will give them 4 solid productive years

I’m not surprised. Nobody should be. It’s a long slow suffocating death spiral that’s sucked the hockey life out of me.

And this appears to be TG's new strategy.

Oseicki is the lead recruiter. All failures to get top end talent fall in him. Granato shoulders the blame (or should) terrible record. Strobel? Who knows what the hell he does? Whatever it is it’s not working.

Central scouting rankings, 4 draftables move up in rankings.

Finley was 45, now 36
Jugnauth was 134, now 66
Godbout was 149, now 129
Pierre was 170, now 144
