Wisconsin Recruiting V - Does it even matter?

The athletic ran an article today surveying coaches, players, etc on the best college hockey recruiters! Not only did Bucky not make the top 10….there were 20 honorable mentions that missed Wisconsin as well??

The NAHL isn't very much of a difference maker producing league. What year is he projected to arrive?

That's why I listed the NAHL, tier below the USHL. I would have to assume next year, as Moe is leaving and they have no other goalie recruits signed or committed and William is 20 years old.

Yep, so totally a nothing burger. Sorry William. Prove me wrong please.

Diego Johnson a 2006 has committed to UW. Basically in his first season of the BCHL with the Merritt Centennials. On his U17 team he had 42 pts in 32 games. Right now he has 7 pts in 11 games. Seems really early to pull the trigger being 16 yrs old, but he is 5-10 and 170 so that frame is a plus. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next few years. So much for recruiting guys who are older and more NCAA ready. Of course he's trying to find the next Turris or Holloway.

Agreed that the NAHL is one level below the USHL, but I honestly think that is most applicable to skaters. That league has produced some tremendous NCAA goaltenders recently (Connor Hellebuyck, Jack Campbell - I guess he flaked on his NCAA commit, Collin Delia)

This looks like a good signing for UW. He spent some time in the Swedish U20 Elite league which is an excellent level of play (although it looks like he saw very limited minutes there.)

Fink is tearing up the BCHL after 11 games, 14 G 14A. I guess his pre-season scoring rate was for real.

So......Fink hasn't confirmed he has been sent an LOI or has signed one per TDM. Dude has 20G and 30A in 24 games!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some dude from MI who had maize and blue all over his handle commented on a tweet about Fink getting a player of the week award......

Per TDM.....looks like 8 are signing LOI's, (but maybe not all coming next year). G Gramme, D Cleveland(b) & Schulz(c), F Finley, Whiteclaw(b), Mehlenbacher, Scholl, Moravec. Buckburger is coming.

Who is leaving for sure? Caufield, Mersch, Gorniac. That is it.

Of course if he gets canned they all can move on if they so choose.

Holloway had 88pts in 53 games. If Fink keeps this rate up he will have 176 pts in in 53 games. That is completely off the rails. TG's gotta get this kid signed.

Joey Sylvester has committed to WI, a D playing for the Chippewa Steel. TDM expects one for full season in Jr's.

Luke Levandowski is looking at other colleges as he wasn't part of the group that signed on last week.
