The final year of the line for student section tickets*, they distributed tickets on a saturday morning. That Friday night, there was a women's game against some awful team, and they let the entire student section line into the game for free. There were quite a few "sieve"s being thrown around.
*I'm getting forgetful in my old age... That was 05-06, right? In any case: RIP, student section line. I'll mourn ya til I join ya.
*Nope... was 06-07. Didn't have tickets my freshman year, sat out my soph.
You old fart.
(Thinks back) Did I really wait in the hockey line three years? I can only remember doing it twice...
Well, thats good news but I wont get too excited about it until Alvarez gives the go-ahead for them to break ground on the new rink.New facility is now moving forward!

The 2010-11 USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine men's hockey preseason rankings were released on Monday, September 27, and the Wisconsin men found themselves at 13.
The Badgers finished last season ranked number 2 after posting a 28-11-14 record and finishing as the NCAA runner-up. After losing 10 players from last year's squad, and replacing them with 10 new freshmen, the Badgers fell in the rankings due to the uncertainty of how this year's squad will react to all the new faces.
Any one else going to the hockey extravaganza this weekend besides myself and my posse?
The season is coming on fast. Whose going to pull the trigger on the regular season thread? I can't find any clever titles rolling around in my head.
Im going to the girls' game on Friday and my girlfriend and I might go to the red white scrimmage and the girls game on Saturday.Any one else going to the hockey extravaganza this weekend besides myself and my posse?

I'm sure Varsity Wisconsin will be along any moment.
Yes. The Badgers are picked 7th by the coaches and 5th by the media as their finish in the WCHA. I would think they'll do better than that, but low expectations have their advantages coming into the season.

Ive been considering starting the new season thread, but I figured it was someone else's turn to do it. I wouldnt some of the, "legendary Wisconsin posters" to have to give me a stern talking-to for giving it a crazy title.![]()
For those of you who've been around awhile, you should know...
We don't start "offseason" threads for this very reason. We close threads out at 1000 posts... once they're closed, time for a new thread. Thus, if anyone starts a season thread (or is named VarsityWisconsin), they will be mocked mercilessly.

I also seem to recall VW being mocked for starting the weekly game thread.I don't recall running the offseason thread to 1000, then going with a season thread.I recall VW started the season thread 78 weeks early and was mocked mercilessly.

Glad to see that channel 14 will be showing some of the games. Currently they are showing local highschool football every Friday night and I was a little bit concerned that they would have Badger hockey on this season.Wisconsin men’s hockey program announced its television schedule for the 2010-11 season on Wednesday. Currently, 20 regular-season games are scheduled for live broadcasts.
In addition to the live broadcasts, 13 of the 20 television contests will also air on a tape-delayed basis by Wisconsin Public Television. Those games will air on either Wisconsin Public Television or the Wisconsin Channel.
FSN Wisconsin will show 10 regular-season contests live, while FSN is also slated to carry the WCHA Final Five. WISC-TV and TVW 14 in Madison will air three games each, while Big Ten Network will carry two contests and Charter Extra will pick up two road games to complete the live coverage.
The live games on WISC-TV and TVW 14 will also air live around the state of Wisconsin on Charter Extra and Time Warner Sports. Additionally, those outside Wisconsin can watch those contests via live web stream at UWBadgers.com for a fee.
In addition to television coverage, six games will stream live at bigtennetwork.com for a fee, while one other game will stream exclusively at UWBadgers.com, also for a fee.
Calling the action again this season for the Badgers will be longtime hockey play-by-play voice Paul Braun. Adding color to the live telecasts will be former Badger Rob Andringa. Tape-delayed telecasts will see Robb Vogel on play-by-play and rotating color analyst duties between former Badger greats Ron Vincent and Theran Welsh.
