With an attitude like this I guess we can't expect anything to change for the better. How obtuse can this clown of an AD be.
Quotable quote from the Todd Milewski article linked below:
The athletic department started planning for decreased men's hockey ticket revenue in 2014-15, projecting a $700,000 decrease that season.
When will that bottom out?
"We hope that we're there," Morris said. "We hope that we have stronger season ticket sales next year."
But athletic director Barry Alvarez downplayed the men's hockey ticket sales downturn in comparison to higher revenue-producing sports football and men's basketball.
"You don't like for it to happen, but hockey is not going to make or break us," Alvarez said. "We don't like that, obviously. We're not satisfied with that. But we've got to keep that big stadium (Camp Randall) full and we've got to keep the Kohl Center full" for men's basketball.

Alvarez is a joke and this article proves he doesn't care about hockey......He should be thinking how much more revenue could be brought in if things were turned around, not that only BB and FB matter.

It doesn't even really make sense. Keeping Camp Randall and Kohl Center (for basketball) full and taking account of men's hockey are really separate issues. UW has the resources to do all three (and then some). When recent history has proven that men's hockey can consistently draw 13,000-14,000, I don't understand why that would be understated.
There are two radically under-performing teams (on the ice/court & attendance) with men's hockey and women's basketball. Both have the potential of winning big and drawing big crowds. Neither Eaves or Kelsey got an extension last year. Both teams are again performing poorly this year. I have nothing personal against either coach, but I don't see any way how either survive after this season.

Really? Who paid the bills In the 70's and 80's? Huh?
Omfg. my rage could fuel a musk rocket to the god**** beginning of time. I'm calling the ad and I'm calling the badger fund and I'm calling as many numbers as i can for the board of regents. This dismissive bulldhit behavior absolutely cannot stand.
I can't ****ing believe that for the 2nd time (at least) Alvarez tells us via a news reporter that he doesn't give a good goddman flying **** about hockey.
And just what does he expect the kids to feel? The kids on the team who read his horse **** quote? Or read that quote he made memorialized over and over in this thread?
**** him. **** him and the arrogance he rode in on. I don't care about football. In fact I know hope hhey go in a tailspin and re-enter the hilles/Morton years. They deserve it for all the ****s Alvarez does not give toward any other sport
EDIT: left some vm's. Unfortunately alvarez's number bounces you to a general msg with no allowance to leave a vm.
For those who want to call and find a board of regents contact, in case they're not up on the site: badger fund 608-262-1000
They should know. I'm calling Monday morning
Doesn't matter, it's about dough. Bowl games and march madness. Don't get me wrong I get the history and programs should should strive for good coaching and success, but I can see why AD's don't give a ****

Edit: I will forever love Bo Ryan for basically saying "**** you" to Barry saying no to Greg Gard as head coach by stepping down mid season. Class act, unlike Barry.
