Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

Re: Wisconsin Hockey XXXIV: A Season without Chuck

Thinking of hockey......I paid my first of "4" $35.00 payments to DirecTv for NHL Center Ice.......I thought I'd stop in to see what's going on. Move on sir, nothing to see here..........:(

My secret NHL fund (the one that I used for UW hockey & Mrs. MadCity knows nothing about) is quickly filling up with NHL money!

I used to do Center Ice through DirecTV, but have found it much more convenient to go through the NHL direct with Gamecenter just because of device flexibility. My NHL budget is a bit crazy this year (especially if I get to the 4 or 5 Isles games if I am planning on going to.)

My NHL budget was 2 tickets to the Blake Geoffrion Hockey Classic. I'm not THAT into the NHL to see other than what is on regular cable. Blake's back in hockey by the way, as a scout for the Blue Jackets, good to see.

...and in alumni news.

Brad Winchester has retired from hockey at age 34.

Dany Heatley is heading to play in Germany.

That team already has Kyle Klubertanz and Steve Reinprecht on it. Quite a UW reunion going on in Nurnberg.

Is Klubertanz the water boy or janitor?

He was a pretty good player for UW, though he maybe never became the offensive player we thought he might. Now if we were talking about unlucky Likens, I'd understand. He's having a very nice career in Deutschland for Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams.

Classy comment.

Ahhhhhh....sorry there are some players I don't like and you disagree w/ me.

Klubertanz was good when paired w/ Tom Gilbert in 2006. Otherwise he sucked. If you disagree that is fine, but that is what my eyes saw, and I know I'm not alone in that opinion.

I'm just shocked that he is still playing overseas. Maybe he is more of a European style player?

I'm sure his game evolved and got better, though yeah it's not NHL level.

So, we're 3 weeks out from the season beginning and there is still no set times for games.

I really don't remember this being the case in the past.

Very weird. The gals are all locked up. Maybe they are waiting for the B6 BB to get finalized on TV, then the B6 can squeeze the iceboys into the schedule.

"Like an arrow"

Can someone do us all a favor and start counting metaphors and analogies over the course of the season?

Great, now Eaves can screw up the UW Archery program.

If you search for "Mike Eaves metaphors" this is one of the first pages that comes up:

I remember seeing Andy (Chuck) comment on this on his twitter last year.

Man, I miss Andy/Chuck, this place has gotten far less informative without him.

I agree. The best we can do is find things like "In college, every year is new."

Also a funny thing about that Twitter Account is that speed skater Bonnie Blair is following it. That doesn't mean anything, but I just found it entertaining.
