Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Why would you all assume he's talking about you?

There certainly are idiot fans of every team and I've seen plenty of comments elsewhere by some supposed "Badger Fans" that make folks here look tame and content by comparison. There's no context to that quote to discern what or who it's specifically referring to. I guess you could assume he's talking about ALL Badger fans, but isn't it possible that Baggott selected that quote from the context of whatever else Shuchuk said for the very reason that it's now posted here? Or does that never happen with the media?

Is there anything they could do that you wouldn't try to rationalize away?

Wait...

Mike? Is that you?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

It's all a plan to get fired, so his kid that only got on the team because he was there leaves, thus beginning the redistribution of class sizes.

What are Ben and Pat up to these days?

“I don’t think we’ve lost anybody,” Walsh said.

Oh no, he doesn't know about Boeser, Ford, the fans, season ticket holders... No one tell him, he'll be crushed!

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

I know I haven't been around in awhile, but I'm still watching the team despite their historically awful season. I just had to pop back in though, because seriously, *** IS WRONG WITH SHUCHUCK? He was my favorite in '90 when I was just a kid, and now I kind of wish I could punch him in the face. This is on track to be literally the worst season in history by any measure I've seen, and you call fans idiots in the paper for complaining? I'm sure some of them are idiots, but there are a LOT of legitimate complaints, and it is NOT remotely idiotic to be a ****ed off Badger fan right now. I was ok with the four year cycle idea if we competed for championships regularly and won some of them, but to bow out in the first round last year and follow it up with the steaming pile of **** that is this season.... complaining and questioning the coaching staff does NOT make one an idiot. Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

You always learn a ton about a person when things aren't going well...I'd say you guys learned more than you wanted about Shuchuk.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Holy ****, I found this post (mine) from 2 years ago. Looks like I was upset; even more so now! It must have been a horrible game!

"Now that my wrists are stitched up, here goes. That was a ****ing club team....I don't care how they were designated this year...a ****ing club team. Horrible Monday night game ...NO atmosphere and 9,000 in the KC? No ****ing way. The Sunday-Mondays are gonna suck; I won't be there. Since I gave up analyzing hockey games in the mid 2000's to enjoy them more, I DON"T enjoy them more! Pro, youth, yes. Not Badger hockey since 2006. I'm finally giving in; some major changes are needed. Sending some guys to the NHL every year is great, but the University of Wisconsin is not in the AHL. I may have lost some respect from some of you (if I ever had any) but this is the lowest I've felt as a Badger hockey fan in many, and I mean many, years."

And that was a Golden Age in comparison to now. :D:p

I've tried to explain this before. I do it completely out of spite. In fact when my lottery winnings come in I'm buying the Blackhawks and hiring Eaves for the same reason. Chicago is going to be known as Trap City, baby!

Of course we now know what he really thinks. A fake apology isn't going to change anything.

Too bad twitter doesn't have a "don't like" option. As the lyrics to the Pearl Jam song Nothingman go, "some words once spoken, can't be taken back."

Thought it was interesting that he didn't claim he was misquoted or anything. Just apologized for saying it. Didn't say he didn't mean it.

I will give him credit for not blaming someone else (Baggot in this case) for something he said. If he was a politician, he would have already spun 14 different stories or pointed something else out that is seemingly far worse to distract everyone.

I'm sure he was fired up and ****ed off that is when bad things happen. Emotional reactions should be avoided due to reasons like this.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

I love Schuey from what he did while playing, but he comes across so often as a bull in a china shop in interviews. I think you'd want your lead recruiter to come across as smooth, professional and polished, whether it be in a living room or an interview. I don't blame Shuey, I blame Eaves for hiring him. Schuey had the balls to apply for his dream job, I give him credit for going for it, but Eaves didn't have the foresight to tell him he wasn't ready for primetime yet. Or Eaves has done the worst job ever of mentoring a young professional to higher places.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

Well...this idiot fan has zero intention of renewing his 4 season tickets he has had since the Kohl opened. Only way I would even remotely consider reupping is if there is a clean sweep of the staff. Sorry, but this idiot can't remember the last time I saw a 4 on 1 against (like I did the last time I was at the Kohl) really at any level of hockey beyond rat hockey. I can see what is happening very clearly....pathetic hockey once every four years, followed by a season of mediocre hockey, and then a couple years of decent hockey. Color me unimpressed at the Eaves/Shuey rollercoaster ride.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXXII: No Where To Go But Up!

A couple weeks from now in a darkened Detroit locker room...

"Gather 'round here boys....

Now boys, I know it's been a tough season and I know things haven't gone the way we wanted up until now. But I want each and every one of you to know I'm really proud of you. Even you, Alex. You all stayed together and stayed the course. And even though the fans have all been down on us all year you worked hard every day, and never gave up...

Now speaking of the fans... I think I did see a little red out there in the stands during warm ups, believe it or not... and I know there is probably one, maybe two fans still watching back home...

So what do ya' say boys? How about just once... How about this one time we go out there and win just one big game for those idiots!?"
