Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

The thing about Frey is he's a freshman who came to our program this semester to fill an unexpected void in our goaltenders. He first played on Dec. 28th and last night was only his 4th start since coming on board last month.
I think it speaks highly of his potential to have done as well as he did against a highly skilled team like yours.

That makes it all the more sucky that UW couldn't sieve this guy. He did have a big backdoor save, and he was generally in good position, I'll give him that. He's got some potential.

Tough loss on Saturday. Down to 13 in pairwise. This team should be no where near that low. They better have their best showing on the road this weekend.

If Wisconsin wins that game Saturday they are 7 in the PWR.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

It's fair to point out that this year's PWR formula is remarkably volatile, especially with the Quality Win Bonus being thrown into the RPI calculation.

Hi to all in Badgerland,

I have a few Badgers game worn jerseys that I am looking to sell so I figured I would place a post here.
If by chance you know anyone with other college game jerseys available for sale / trade drop me a line.
I can be reached via email at info@johnsonsjerseys.net with any questions.

If you haven't heard, Barnes ruled out for the Michigan series. Kerdiles might be able to go, still not 100% either way: LINK.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

we need Kerdiles back real bad.....you cant go to scum with 2 of your top players out

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Frey was a rebound producing machine, it's too bad they could not capitalize.

UW took too many dumb penalties, 1 of which lead to the post pp goal. It's too bad Soleway did that, he was a physical presence all weekend and it marred his performance. McCabe needs to be a little more disciplined with the penalty taking as well. UW was better 5 on 5, but all the dumb penalties took too much 5 on 5 time away from them.

Hopefully Barnes is ok. Missing him and Kerdiles at the same time would be tough.

early on he was a rebound producing machine and the badgers couldn't seem to get any of the bounces.....once the daosu got the lead he seemed to settle in

Little in place of Barnes is interesting. I would have maybe guessed Soleway first, but Little could work. How about going way off the board and putting Kerdiles on that line if he's healthy. That would make UW a little top heavy on the scoring side, but what a dynamic line that would be.

It would be nice to have him for at least ONE FULL SEASON. I hope he stays at least 1 more.

For some time I've wanted to see Kerdiles with Dahl and Mersch. I know there are plenty of reasons not to do this, including putting our eggs in one basket with Barnes out, and if we took more than a couple penalties, the ice time for these guys could quickly get problematic. And Kerdiles is probably better off playing center, although I think he can play anywhere. Still I think they would be so hard to play against -- excellent two way players and big scoring punch. Mersch and Kerdiles can both play physical in the corners and both score, Dahl is quick and so smart on the ice --could present all kinds of match up problems for the opposition.

That's not to say that Navin has not been playing well. I think he's vastly improved and is very much getting the job done. In fact I would say what I'm most pleased about with this team is that almost all players are significantly better now than when the season started. If that trend can continue and we can get healthy, I think this team will really be a legitimate contender at the end.

I would think the benefits of putting these 3 together outweigh the negaives. It gives you a top scoring line and sometimes that will energize the rest of the team. Give it a try cant hurt anything,

The Badgers get the early game this week, as the Badgers and Wolverines hold a rematch after the shenanigans of 1/10-1/11.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

Just in case anybody is wondering; TONIGHT @ 5:30 BTN. SATURDAY @ 5:30 NBCSN. My Directv schedule confirms this.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

It's was a nice homestand, but we still dropped some much-needed conference points against OSU. Seems like a 4-6 point weekend is needed or Minnesota is going to run away and hide with the Big Ten title.

Love the fact that both games are on national TV. Would be nice if I could see/hear someone else besides Ben Clymer as color man for BTN Badger games. Is Andringa working any of these games?

Andringa is doing color for both games.

Also, Kerdiles is NOT in the lineup tonight. He may be a possibility for tomorrow.

I like Andringa because he can bring a Badger perspective yet still be fairly objective. Doesn't seem to have a problem calling out the Badgers' poor play, if deserved.
