Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

It looked like a stick to the head/neck area of Faust preceded his slash.
Didn't catch it. Too much going on at once in front of the net. If I didn't see it then that must mean I'd make a goof Ref! LOL!
Anyways, hope all are back on ice tomorrow and reasonably healthy for a exciting conclusion to this weekends series.

And we cashed those mistakes in accordingly. Thank you.

While I can't defend the Faust slash, Oddo did dump Dahl into the boards headfirst for a game misconduct.

I think that Wisconsin-Ohio State could build a hockey rivalry like the football and basketball programs.

I really think Oddo got the extra time because of the cheap shot to the face after the whistle.

I doubt it. They eject on boarding calls if they feel it was blatant or there was a high risk for injury. Otherwise they would have given him 2 minutes and if the extra stuff was an issue they probably would have given him a double minor with the second one a roughing after the whistle.

Honestly, that is what I thought they were going to do...but I just wonder if that made them change their mind on the original call. I guess we will never know that they were thinking....(do referees actually think?).

They did confer together after the whistle on what everyone saw but even so it's still a judgment call.

The reffing was weak overall. They called more tick tacky crap against UW then the women's ref's call in an entire game.

UW's special teams will be the death of them if they don't get their act together.

Other than the weak first 14 minutes of the second period, I think the boys played well even strength.

I did not know UW leads the nation in D scoring in pts per game. There were multiple times where the D had the chance to work the puck down low and the F covered at the point. With the F wreaking havoc down low, the D are really playing O well and are attacking.

Most definitely we can. Also with Michigan State. Hey, what's not to hate?

Although, for whatever reason, the team seemed kind of listless last night. I gnashed my teeth more than once. But, a win is a win.

Crowd looked great last night and even better news on tonight's crowd. Let's just hope the team finds a way to feed off the crowd and keeps winning, it should bring the passion back to the Kohl.

By my count only about 440 tickets left for tonight's game. Only 27 singles left in the 100's, 45 random singles in the 200's.

When I do this for Gopher games the stated attendance is always much lower. Maybe it's something to do with the suites, I guess.

They said on TV last night that your's is the second largest arena for college hockey but didn't give the capacity.

Different sources have different numbers. I've seen 15,237 and 15,325 as well. No matter which one it is I'm ready to see A LOT of white tonight.

That's from the Wisconsin website. I'm guessing the numbers have changed in the past few years with the suites/club thing being built.
