Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

I wouldn't say that. There are varying degrees of the injury. I've separated my shoulder multiple times and it's taken varying lengths of time to come back. Depends on how his body heals.

Lets hope that he doesn't check out like other player have after suffering an injury knowing they will be leaving after the season, because once they came back you could tell they had no interest in risking another injury before signing a pro contract.

Any news on ticket sales for this weekend?

Any news on ticket sales for this weekend?

Friday's crowd looks pretty decent by this year's standards. I wouldn't be surprised if Saturday's ticket sales are over 13K. Most of the side 300 level tickets are gone. Not quite as much as against Michigan, but it will be pretty full in those sections. In the first 2 levels, there aren't that many remaining (slightly more than were available for the Michigan game at about the same time in the week, but it's pretty close to full).

You can see what's currently available on the ticket site. Pick the game you want, and click the button that pops up and says "pick your own seats" or something like that. This is where you can select your seats, and see what's available and what's not.

Edit: You'll notice that beyond the first three rows, there aren't any seats in the 300 level end sections that are available. This doesn't mean they're sold; it just means they don't bother selling them before the other seats in that price level.

For Sections 305-325 and 317-318 they certainly are available, just as part of the "Family Four Pack" pricing where you get the ticket, a hot dog, and a soda for $14.00 per person (with fees and charges it comes to $70.00 for the 4 tickets and prepaid concessions).
They sell the front rows as single (or multiple) tickets, and sell the middle and upper rows via the 4-Pack promotion for these sections.

With that being said, it doesn't look like there are many ticket sold via the 4-Pack promotion at this point (at least for the Friday game).

That's really cool. It's way better than the old system which was let them pick the best seats for you.

Two things that caught my eye tonight.

1) Shaved heads?
2) Mini Broadmoor trophy is awesome.

Obviously cool to see both the men's and women's teams carrying on Dan Boeser's tradition at the children's hospital.

According to Baggot: "Frankie Simonelli says buzz cuts are to support an unnamed member of the UW hockey family who is having health issues." and "According to #Badgers teammate Michael Mersch, hair cuts were courtesy of Simonelli, whose only request is that he didn't have to clean up."

Thanks DC. Too bad that someone is obviously suffering from health issues, but cool of the team to support them.

Obviously the health issue that precipitated the shaved heads is sad and concerning and we hope everything goes well for whomever it concerns, but I couldn't help thinking it was funny that the shaved heads came on the same day the video came out talking about them having "sick flow"

I'm seeing more hype from the athletic department for the men's hockey team this week than I've seen in my 2 1/2 years at Wisconsin. This includes last year's WCHA tournament run.

Apparently someone finally realized there was a problem.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVIII: This could be a banner year, but how would we know?

A friend who works in the ticket office just informed me that 311, 312, and 313 are pretty much sold out both nights. These are all sections that they've been selling at a student price of $5. These are current students who aren't season ticket holders, so this is good.

Barry: "wait, what? we've got a hockey team? How come I didn't know about that!?!? Ah well, anyway when's spring ball start? Anderson have the boys ready yet?"

Doesn't appear that way on the ticket site.

Yeah, less so Friday than Saturday. I should have said that the "upper reserved" seats, so rows D and behind, are the ones being sold for $5 for students. I believe they're swinging around the back of the student section, where the obstructed views get bad.

Either way, they've been getting a good response.

This is great news...and I agree with you about seeing more hype recently from the athletic department than there has been in years. And even some creativity with ticket promotions. It's good to see and from what you say it's working with non-season ticket students.

I'm guessing if this isn't the case - and I'm not sure it's not:-) - then they might be looking at prelim budget number and see more RED with men's hockey ticket revenue. And/Or Andringa's comments and maybe other alums (or Jim Delaney) are chirping and the Athletic Dept is waking up and maybe the Athletic Board is taking notice - not holding my breath on it.
