It seems like a number of current Crease Creatures actively post on here, so in advance of this weekend's series and out of curiosity, how many of you know how the Badgers' 1992 season ended?

Why? You want them to heckle the refs? Don't think it's the same crew.

Not Lake State's fault.

If the Creatures want to do something, how about:

"Where's our banners?

CLAP CLAP clap clap clap

As a person who was in grad school from 79 to 86 and had Saturday night season tickets from 80-81 season till 85-86, I saw packed Dane County Coliseum every game, knew the Rumble Rink cheer, saw two national championships, saw the UW-84 Olympic team game, saw the "bottle" game and even saw the "Black Sunday" game, this discussion is making me sad.......

Yes, I know how the 1992 season ended. I was there, as the game was played in Albany, just 90 miles from where I live. It was a crime what happened to Bucky that night.

Not Lake State's fault.

That doesn't mean I can't hate them for it. Sports ain't rational. But mainly, the question was spurred by me sitting on my couch thinking "hey, LSSU this weekend. I have no angst towards them, should be a good weekend...wait...flashback...". And then wondering if that's the sort of thing the really-into-it current student fans think about/know about or not. When I was a student too few of my fellow student fans knew about team history before they came to school and it always made me melancholy, but some of today's youth seem a bit more on the ball and have the advantage of the internet to fill themselves in. I didn't mean to spur melancholy reminiscing amongst us old timers.

Not a clue. There are a lot of historical things that we've learned through the internet, but I've never heard of this.

I'll chant, "we want banners" and point to the rafters. "Where's our banners" rolls of the tongue in chant form better than "where are our banners," but it's grammatically incorrect!

Oh, is it...

:p

Yeah, LSSU...

I remember where I was watching that and with whom (thankfully, I wasn't there). I was livid and absolutely stunned that referees could insert themselves in such a prominent and to be honest, unprecedented way, when you consider it was a championship game. I had grown up with the notion that refs swallow the whistle starting about halfway through the 3rd and they certainly didn't call penalties late in the last game of the year. It was an unwritten rule back then in hockey.

I wanted to find that guy. In fact, I'm starting to wonder why I never did. What was his name?

Not proud of how the players reacted, but can understand it coz if I was that ****ed, imagine those who had worked their whole lives to get to that point and who had just spent 7 months battling to get there.

Sauer should have had better control, but he ran a loose ship.

All that said though, still not Lake State's fault and seriously doubt if many current students or players know about this or care.

Amen brother....I still hold a grudge too. They got the game on a silver platter. They didn't have to score the ppg's, they could have taken more penalties. It's all thier fault......SIEVE. I just hated to see Derksen's last game be that game, he's one of my all time fav's. I wanted him to go out on top.

Hopefully the WI channel's broadcasts will not be too fuzzy and jittery, I am just about dying to see some UW hockey.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol. XXVI: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Tolerate The BTHC

Does anyone know of a good computer program where I could record the Wisconsin Channel stream of the game Saturday night? Have plans but want to watch the game after or Sunday morning. Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've also enjoyed what Harwell said.

Banners are up, but some old csc boss lady took away a sign that was no bigger than 5 or 6 sheets of printer paper (would fit in front of a front row fan's torso, obstructing nobody's view). What a joke.

I'm super excited to listen to this game via radio tonight once Sean Hannity gets off the air. I hope the student section still has some costumes and I especially hope they have more dancing idiots now that I'm not there in person.
