Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

I know, next year is when the profits will come, the up front costs is what hurt.
And with what beer costs at sporting events these days... And with how much beer is needed to watch a Gopher football game...

Had to laugh at that one. I figured that alone would have made it profitable.

Not going to follow you down the rabbit hole. Have fun.

Door County Badger. You just wrote the dumbest thing on this Forum, thread etc I have seen. The man you are at war with in this thread is the single most informed person with anything to do with Badger Hockey. If you had the sense to follow him on Twitter you would be privy to important news on badger hockey at or before anyone else gets it. You clearly have no idea who you are attempting to unsuccessfully insult. Your contribution to this thread has absolutely no value.

Have a nice day Alice.

Imagine if 118-119 (the back of it anyway) was like the student section, but for non-students. Just another standing section. Rubber chickens and stuff! No need for beer during the game!

Oh that would be perfect. Like a Crease Creature Alumni section, with the alumni part being optional. That'd be a thing of beauty.

If I didn't have a three hour drive or a baby on the way, I'd be going to as many games as I could.

But, as we all know, the UW AD and the KC staff would never allow it. I used to think it was my own insane paranoia (and that still plays a role in my incoherent ramblings), but ever since some of you guys posted about the season ticket holders' survey, I feel like its a confirmed fact.

They don't want fans like that at the hockey games anymore. Maybe if there were more of us, we would be welcome. But they feel/know that are a plot more LCD fans that they can draw in with B1G opponents, shootouts and by having the AV club silence Michael Leckrone and drain the arena of atmosphere. So we'll get that instead.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

I guess we will see how many Sun/Mon series we get. I think it may be more than one or two, but that is just a guess with no inside knowledge whatsoever. You may be right. But they are still tickets that long distance subscribers will have to eat since they wont be able to travel four hours on a monday to Madison and back to see a game. So do you think we will average more than 6500 in paid attendance?

We'll average more than that in paid, but how many actually show up will be another story altogether.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

We have a job opening...

Could Oz swallow his pride?

Would Eaves take him back?

Not gonna happen as I'd think Oz will have other opportunities.

Wonder if Gwoz will land there.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

I would think that Oz, despite whatever it is that got him out of Ohio State, is going to stay a head coach and find another opportunity.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

Gwoz to Columbus, you can pretty much book that one.

As for Oz, obviously that would be a big windfall to get him back. But, we'll see. Baggot already talked to Eaves and he seemed to think he wants to find a head coaching job. That said, it's not like there are that many available, at least at this level. We'll see...

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

Just saw Mark Osiecki got let go at Ohio State for managerial differences with the AD.

Why couldn't Eaves have managerial diff's with the AD?......

WOW. I'd love to know the backstory there. I'd love to have him back, but one would think he'll only be back a year or 2, then take another head coaching job, so we'd have this merry go round that wouldn't be healthy for recruiting relationships.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

Looks like Rohlik is interim coach, but for how long? Wonder what kind of relationship he has with Eaves & UW where he might be good fit here. Assuming there is some kind of buy-out involved, not sure Osiecki has to rush out and get any job.

Tune in tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel.

Rohlik, being a former F would be more suited for Schuey's spot, working with forwards, wouldn't he? Rohlik was involved with recuiting for Sandelin, that part might be a good fit.

I think it would suck...it seems he's got our number. From what I'm reading, OSU doesn't give a whole-lot-of-hell about hockey. Would Gwoz go there under those circumstances?

Here's a thought...the NHL Avalanche ****-can Sacco and hire Eaves. Gwoz to Wisconsin :D

Not that it would probably matter but Eaves would have to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $375k to UW if he left for another job.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey Vol XXV: There's Hope! Or whatever...

I don't know much about it, but how much sense would it make to hire O knowing he is ready and wanting to take a head job sometime in the very near future. I would like to see at least some stability in the asst. positions. Additionally, having him out there recruiting for Bucky might also end up giving him some pull with potential recruits when he leaves. Wisco lost out to O on some common recruits when he left for the Fighting Nuts. I would hate to see that time wasted again.
