Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

What a great day to be a Gopher fan...first JT Miller says see ya to the Susie's...and next Sconi's leading scorer from last year goes pro!

Good Times!

Jeez, if things continue along this line, the gophs might have a chance of making the tournament--big news for a desperate fan base.

Didn't expect to see you around while the hunting and gathering seasons were still going. Did you get all of those stone spear tips hewn like Grok told you to?

I'm pacing myself. I just need a big enough supply to be ready for the first NCHC - BTHC party a little over two years from now. Saving the real pointy ones for the likes of you.

Cool! Thanks for sharing.

Wonder how the Yankees hat will go over back home considering they knock out the Twinks just about every year...

Back home for these clowns is Wisconsin now. As soon as you turn your back on the Gophers you are no longer considered a resident of MN. Hence the Yankees hats make perfect sense...they went to the dark side many years ago.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

Peterson....Joel and Landon will split time the whole season.
Thompson. Could see a few minutes here and there.

Feel free to comment.

If Rumpel and Peterson split time, UW will have a losing record because they will mean Rumpel is not as good as expected and Petersen is a late add insurance policy who probably is not a sure fire d1 goalie, otherwise he would have ended up somewhere else by the time Eaves signed him. Rumpel has to be good enough to carry the team for the whole season. They play a lot of games in the BCHL, so I don't think it will be a matter of he's not physically able to play 2 games a week.

The inexperience of the F scare the crap out of me. On the other hand, this yrs incoming class is a top 6 class class, so the cupboard is getting restocked.

They escaped the dark side years ago.....If they hadn't they'd have been underdeveloped by tDon and wallowing in the minors.

OK...I agree with you on what you say about Peterson, but he will play a game here and there throughtout the season.

It's hard enough to project how any freshman will perform, it's even more difficult to know how a freshman goalie will perform. While I suspect that you are correct, I don't think that it's fair to pass judgement before the first game, let alone the first practice of the upcoming season.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

We'll see how things shake out when the season starts but I was under the impression that the goalies would be in this order. Rumpel will see at least 90% of the starts with Thompson getting the rest unless Peterson absolutely comes out of no where in camp.

1. Rumpel

2.Thompson
3. Peterson

was UW's class ranked this year? I haven't been keeping up on that

And yet, if they grew up playing hockey in Wisconsin, odds are they would have been playing club hockey somewhere.

That's different from everywhere else how? Most players end up playing club hockey somewhere.

notice this guy has decided rodentsota has 7 NCAA championships? I wonder if the NCAA knows?

I guess that 6>5 4>2 stuff really pizzes them off!

Eaves should recruit Mario Lucia and steal that kid from the rodents...their fanbase would implode quicker than the metrodome after a 3-hour snowstorm

It's pretty amusing how much pride they take in the kids from their state because so many of them decide to go elsewhere at the first chance.

Minnesota takes the best 6 every year and Sconi and No Dak can take our leftovers...it's not our fault our left overs are 20 times better than any WI HS kid. They don't go elsewhere the first chance they get, they just get passed on like McD and Gardiner both did. There will always be late bloomers that Sconi can get lucky on.

Don't kid yourself, the best six every year? If that were the case, how come UW and North Dakota each reached a frozen four the last two seasons respectively, while minnesota sat at home eating cheetos? If the slop tDon has recruited recently is the "best six MN has to offer", then by all means he needs to keep it up, and your fan base can play some cribbage while the rest of us are enjoying post season hockey.

What happened to Anders Lee (Notre Dame) or Brock Nelson (UND) last year than? I'm prettty sure the Gophers could have used them...or what about Josh Archibald, Jonny Brodzinski, Tony Cameranesi, Patrick Daly, Max Everson, Steven Fogarty, Garrett Hendrickson or Joseph LaBate this year? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's 8 of the 10 Mr. Hockey Finalists going somewhere other than the mighty Gophers!
