Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

Well isn't that just a kick in the nuts. I know that its not like this is happening in August or September, but I just really hate it when this happens this late into the offseason.

What a great day to be a Gopher fan...first JT Miller says see ya to the Susie's...and next Sconi's leading scorer from last year goes pro!

Good Times!

Swallow nails

I love ya Chuckie Cheese...why don't you post much on your new website though?? You haven't made the owner of the new site your bi*** yet like you did with gandy and EODS?? Are you scared to post your non objective bs now that you are on a more professional site?

I will be curious to see if you go with your Minnesota Sucks week trash on this new site or if you will avoid it because the new admin won't let u...time will tell!

My guess is you will be like Blais and do what your told!

Go Gophers!

hey piggie

it's the OFF season so there isn't that much to post about unless you're the Rats who are all up-in-arms about having a new assistant coach.

NEWSFLASH - that same assistant was also there during the years Wooger lost it so why is he that special again?

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

To be honest, I was a little surprised that he didn't go right after the WC. He looked ready.

Would have been nice to see him with that added confidence applied to the college game, but oh well.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

Well, is it to late to grab another player looking for a team.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

Linaker said Friday Wisconsin hasn't contacted him. He didn't even know Smith signed.

I think Baggott said in his article that Eaves wasn't planning on bringing anyone else in, but things do change as we all know. Maybe Eaves is miffed at Linaker for not waiting the extra year he wanted him to and then verballing to PSU.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

Definitely leaves a big hole at Center. Dahl is the only returning player who saw significant time at center all last season. Lee played there some, but at some point Turnbull moved into that role and never looked back (after being given the chance). Zengerle certainly has experience at center and I would assume he moves to top line center at this point. LeBate is a center isn't he? Lee? I think Barnes played center in Waterloo too. Maybe Meuer or Lapic can center the 4th line.

That is going to hurt early in the season, probably going to be the revolving door of line combos for the first month(s). Hopefully a guy like Jason Clark takes this opportunity, should be looking at a spot on one of the top lines, and runs w/ it.

Re: Wisconsin Hockey: Vol. XVIII - Belief in a Better Tomorrow

Well Gandalf you have some good points, here's what I got for line-ups for the first couple a weeks.

Forwards
Barnes-Zengerle-Mersch. All Sophomores but probably our best scoring threat.
Clark-Dahl-Lee. Very small but very good, can see lots of goals.
R.Little-Labate-Navin. 2 deadly Freshman that can light the lamp.
Meuer-Lapic-Woods. Line could be shakey but may stay strong.

Paape, Hartzog, S. Little. In at a moments notice.

Defense
Schultz-Simonelli. No doubt our best defenders.
Ramage-McCabe. Jake can learn a bit from fellow USA player.
Faust-Daly. 2 youngsters that can do good.

Springer-Drake. Eric needs to show he belongs in the line-up, and i have never seen Drake play.

Goalies
This is a toss up as to who we see in the net with all 3 on scholarship. But for now I see...

Rumpel
Peterson....Joel and Landon will split time the whole season.
Thompson. Could see a few minutes here and there.

Feel free to comment.

How can any site that has you as a member be "professional?" You're a bigger bucket of AIDS than the gopher D-core. This season much like last season, you will not finish above 5th and once the B1G starts you'll only finish above Penn State which coincidentally will be 5th.

Predictions in July are always fun.

I don't really have a comment on changes, but looking at this, if there are no early departures next season beyond Schultz, the 2012/13 team will be THIS again, just a year better along w/ Kerdiles and Zulinick. That brightened my day.
