I see your point about players coming and going, but I think consistency comes more from familiarity than experience. Spending 2 years in juniors, possibly on more than one team with different styles then coming to D1 which may be completely different. As opposed to 3-4 years in the same system. The Washington Redskins have as much experience as anyone in the NFL, but they don't have any chemistry. jmo
Is there really any difference between having them for 2-3 years with a year of juniors or 3-4 years if they don't see much ice time as a freshman? Players are going to enter and leave the program every year, I just don't see this move as improving chemistry or consistency, particularly since consistency is often derived from experience, something that true freshmen are lacking in. I really think that the year in Juniors is valuable experience (both life and hockey) and that the vast majority of players will benefit from it even if they don't play the role that UW expects them to.
