This Kerdiles thing has me lurking on USCHO in addition to blogs/news for the first time in awhile. Where's the freaking decision?!

I was a bit confused by that as it doesn't seem to clearly say, but later the post says:

I'd be remiss if I didn't applaud the mature decision of Kerdiles to stay in school. Knowing that he had an option to leave Wisconsin to go to Kelowna and play immediately, but stayed, has to make you respect the kid even more.

I think that's congratulating him for not leaving immediately upon word of the suspension.

and now Baggot has an article saying the suspension is 8 games and Kerdiles can start playing 11-23, 11-24

bigus and I were debating that wording too- I'm not totally sure.

I think maybe the math on the suspension is 30% = 10 or 11 games; if rounded down to 10, and 2 are served, 10-2=8 more games.

gotcha, well if that's correct then (8 games to go) I would think Kerdiles stays, I mean that's just 4 weeks away, he's waited 2 1/2 years to play @ UW, what's 4 more weeks?

Lot of posts here, but I'm told it's 30% of the season which is 10.8 games. I'm assuming he would have to sit out 11? That's not clear right now. Either way that puts him back for sometime during the Denver series. Kerdiles IS EXPECTED TO STAY.

Edit: May have jumped the gun on Kerdiles staying for sure. Apparently that decision isn't final.

I literally just walked by nic kerdiles @ the women's game. I didn't invade his personal space though because I don't do that.

Boring game. Women's team is rebuilding.

While I have my quibbles, I like the place.

Burish, Gilbert and Patrick Johnson were there along with a bunch of the old farts like Vincent, Tancill and Richter.

Haven't "seen" you in long while, welcome back loyal Bucky fan! Still screaming "DIE!" at the hockey games?

If Kerdiles leaves with only a 10 game suspension, then I'd question all these reports about what a high character guy he is. 10 games is nothing in the big picture. I don't doubt his character, he's staying.

LaBahn is cool, but the seating is mega cramped.

I had to tone it down a bit when we moved to old people seats, but I'm still at (almost*) every game.

I am hopeful about Kerdiles, but wary of the pressure an NHL team could put on a kid if they think Kelowna is better for his development given the suspension. Hopefully, his family's behind him and if he wants to be a Badger he tells the (stupid, not playing right now anyway) NHL to hold their **** horses and let him do college. I also hope they dump that stupid advisor, since it would appear his advise does not line up with the goal of playing college hockey.

We'll be checking out LaBahn on Sunday, looking forward to it!

*Stupid friends of ours got married during the rodent series last year; fortunately, the bride was happy enough we showed up to overlook my spending a large portion of the reception at the bar down the street watching the game on tv. That was the Friday game we won, so I ran around the reception demanding high fives, then threw up in the bathroom because we drank a LOT. This is why no one who wants a classy wedding should make me attend.

Hopefully he comes back...worst case is he is playing by end of Nov....not alot of hockey played in DEC....the team than can get loaded for a Jan-Apr run right through Pittsburg.....then Kirdless can bolt off to the NHL if they are playing by then

Chuck, will kerdiles be able to practice with the team during the suspension, or is he prevented from taking part is any team activities?

One thing to consider, is that given how far they go into the postseason, a 10 game suspension will be close to 25% of all the games played.

Is Kerdiles considered a one and done? Heatley stayed two years and was an ELITE level player immediately in NCAA and NHL. Does Kerdiles project like that? Everything I've read had me thinking he's more of a Earl/Pavelski type that would need a couple of years of pre-nhl seasoning.

I believe he is able to practice during the suspension. During (admittedly brief) research, it appears a suspended Boise football player was able to practice during a 4 game NCAA suspension.
