Wisconsin Hockey 25-26 Hastings Year 3 - Turning the Corner?

I really don't know how I feel about what I just saw. We dominated puck posession in the first but had two pretty brutal D lapses that allowed Grade A chances in the slot to go down 0-2, with one being off a deflection, so I can't blame Pulver for those. Pretty demoralizing, at least to me. Also got absolutely handed our lunch in the face-off circle. On the positives, it really is nice to have Palodichuk and Osburn back at full strength. At the end, I'd like to take the W and then flush this win, as it was ugly. A road win is always good, but lots to clean up for tomorrow.
Deflection on their 2nd goal in the ist was a tough chance for our net minder from close range. No fault of him. Bringing Houser in turned out to be the right call by Hastings. Badgers scoring with confidence is so fun to watch. Norte Dame is a young team. They look a lot like us last year. In the game till crunch time then their mistakes gave Bucky chances and they did not miss.

You’ve got to keep Finley and Morrissey together from now on… right? Those two looked great last night, and I feel like it just makes sense to keep arguably best passer/playmaker on the team and the best scorer on the team together.

Jeepers, I didn’t even realize they were on until I saw Todd Milewski’s tweet that they were up 4-0 after 1.

If Schulz had to be stretchered off the ice with a knee/leg injury, he’s probably done for the season… That sucks.

Great to get 6 points to end the year. Didn't need the injuries, and I hope everyone is able to get back by the holiday tournament.

Man, that Schulz injury was rough. Hoping the fact he got his legs up in time is a benefit, but it didn't look good, that's for sure.

I'm glad we took care of business and then some on the road. In the modern parlance and especially in the NPI, road wins are YUGE! No matter the opponent (unless you're michigan and have 4 NC wins taken out bc your rating dropped that much)

Any word on Schulz?

If he’s out UW would only have 5 d-men available for the tournament with maybe Horbach moving back to be the 6th?
If he is out season ending, I would be shocked if they don't bring a midseason enrollee over break. Just signed John Stout for next season who is 20 in 5 month and already in town would be an obvious candidate.

Does anyone know for certain whether they are allowed to do that? I remember hearing something regarding rule changes this year where you can't add to your roster, but I'm not sure if they were put in place or not.

But yeah, if Schulz is done for the year bringing in Stout would make a lot of sense.

Yep, Ross Carlson came in at the break in 2004. I remember Minnesota bringing a goalie at break too couple years earlier. The thing is unless someone leaves the team at break(like Jugnauth did), I don't they can add anyone. They are already at the roster limit. I don't think you can take Schulz off the roster due to injury, but could be wrong.

Pretty sure there is leeway on the roster number this year. MTU brought a goalie in last year for second semester.
