Blackhawks have a lot of guys nicked up with Bolland and Eager both out for sure tonight and Brouwer a game time decision. I've got to think the Hawks have someone (or 2) in route to Detroit from the AHL. Perhaps Skille gets his first chance of the year?

Traded for Greentree yesterday, but assigned him to Rockford...called up Bickell this morning.

Flipping pathedic.. no other way around it. Something or somebody is getting missed. I just don't understand it. I go to most if not all the home games anyway but for those who can't go to them all, they are really getting the shaft and it wasn't long ago that all road games except up at UAA where on TV. This just makes blood shoot out of my eyes...

Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

I like the tenacity! Ivanans just swings so wildly he doesn't care who he picks the fight with! Its a **** windmill attack! Only thing that upset me is the stupid fans sitting front row looking almost embarassed that the two men are fighting. SIGH!

And I wouldn't say the Kings issues last year were about unity... it was about CONSISTENCY (see: blowing a 4-goal lead, and almost blowing a 3 goal lead, in just three games this season).

And I realize this is the Wisconsin thread... but I'm a Kings fan living in Minnesota. I have no one to talk about this with, so thanks for humoring me. :)

Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

Bomber has a hattrick, which I will say in one way is a suprise, but yet Bennett was giving up rebounds and Bomber is a net crasher, so that fits his m-o, assuming he scored a couple on the rebound.

I don't know, Tim, I'm not sure Bohmber's hat trick is all that surprising. While he does crash the net (love him for that), I think he also might be a bit more of a goal-scorer than you're giving him credit for.

Geoffrion has all the scoring he needs w/ the Bohmber on LW; don't doubt the A-Bohmb.
:)

Its LA, what can you say, i watched the wild @ LA game on FSN Wisconsin last night, yeah FSN wisconsin didn't just play a brewers re run, they put something on that people might care about a little, i hope they do that more this year sense the turned away from badger hockey but i doubt it sense the Milwaukee Sucks, i mean Bucks season is starting... anyway, i noticed there was hardly anybody there above the first 15 rows or so at the staples center, they better do something there before it turns into the Phx situation.

Toa ll the badger fans who have facebook and are upset at FSN wisconsin, i joined there facebook page and plan on flooding it with complaints about pretty much everything they do in running there network...

I will admit for some reason I don't see A-bohmer as a big O threat. Perhaps because he wasn't recruited as a scoring machine, he's under my radar. I certainly hope I'm wrong and you and Gandalf are right. It wouldn't be the first time.

Anyone one else going to the scrimmage tonight? I'm wondering what the attendance will be, what, a couple 1000 maybe?

Well, Tim, I was there and maybe there was 500-700. We sat 3rd row behind the home goal, so it was a bit hard to judge the breakout quality; but there were no real odd man rushes. Mitchell almost got one, but fell down as he was being harrassed at the blue line We did get great looks at the goalies. Goody looked really good - very quick. He had 1 awesome backdoor save that was an eye popper. He and Bennett both were in good position and their movements were controlled. C Smith beat Bennett 5 hole from the lower circle, not a whole lot Bennett could have done on that one, other than maybe not go down. He did seem to go down a bit more than Goody. The 2nd C Smith goal Bennett had no chance as the puck got to his stick on the backside and he buried it off a shot from the point.

None of the Freshmen looked out of place at all.

The autograph session was nice, we got everyone's except for Patrick's, he must be on the road.

Next week is the real deal, I feel really good about the team after tonight's scrimmage. Defense looked good, goalies looked good, the offense will come.

Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

Tough to judge from tonight, even though i'm sure they tried to go hard all night, its hard to do against your own guys, you just don't want to get anybody hurt. Craig Johnson was on a couple powerplays with B. Smith, Street, Mitchell and Davies and I thought they moved the puck very well and C. Johnson did not look out of place at all. Team looked in good shape though, Ben Street is in real good shape, as anybody would having to rehab from and injury like that. Both goalies looked very good to me, Bennett gave up 2 goals however only 1 he was beaten on, the other he had no chance. All and all it was just like i expected, not a lot of fireworks, thought maybe they would have done a shootout or something for the fans at the end. They should be ready for Colorado college

Skille called up...

Anyone else getting Center ice for free? I got to see a little bit of skille play last night, he didn't get that much ice time from what i could tell. Kinda sucks being a hockey fan in madison because we don't get a local pro team to watch at least, FS wisconsin sometimes picks up the Wild feed but it would be nice to get some blackhawk games but whatever. have to deal with VS and NHL network's hockey night in canada...

Yeah it stinks only getting Wild games...I have Center Ice on DirecTV though, so I can at least watch most of the Sharks and Hawks games.

BTW, Elliott played last night, I think his first start of the season, they won 4-2 he had 26 saves.

Glad to hear the 'tenders look sharp..that may be our only question mark (?)

I have DISH Net and also have Center Ice. DISH network is not embroiled in the Comcast / VS / DirecTV thing, so I have to pay full price for C.I. ( I don't understand why more people don't have DISH around here. I've had both DirecTV and DISH Network and consider DISH much better, and have never had any programming controversy)

FS WI does not pick up U of MN games or Wild games. They are on FS NORTH, which is all we used to have before FS WI.

Did I mention FS WI sucks?

Center Ice is free for the first two weeks of the season.

Center Ice is free for the first two weeks of the season.

If you have Directv, are out from contract (past 2 years), and had a package with Versus, you can get Center Ice for free for the entire year.

Call 800-Directv.

After you get to the point where you verify your phone number, say "cancel service" to get to a customer service rep in the cancelation unit. Do not try talking to a regular customer service rep as they do not have the same lattitude in what they can do to retain customers...you must say "cancel service" to ge to the best person to help.

When you get that person on the phone, ask them what is going on with their dispute with Versus and explain you are not happy to be missing out on hockey. I did not even have to ask for Center Ice, it was offered to me for free almost right off the bat. I've heard some reps will offer it at a discounted price, but at that point if you come back with why should I pay for something I was getting for free with Versus in my previous programming...they'll cave right in and offer it for free. You may even mix in the threat of I can get a cheaper rate and the same programing that is important to me with Dish or in a package with my internet provider in a bundle with cable.

Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

Skille was "sent back to Rockford" this weekend, but is expected to recalled in time for tonights game as the move is simply "economics" according to quotes from the coach. The Hawks are right up tight to the cap.

We have Dish and for the most part like it, but we've had the occasional issue. They have a setup where we normally get FSN-North (the Minnesota version) and the Wisconsin FSN pops up on an alternate when there's different programming- Brewers, Bucks, or Badgers. And occasionally, they FORGET to pop up the alternate when Badger hockey is on. And if you call them, they might insist the game isn't televised at all anywhere even if you repeatedly inform them EVERYONE WITH CABLE IS WATCHING IT NOW. And if you're me, then you yell at them a lot but get nowhere because apparently all their customer service people are %#*(&#) morons.

But that's happened probably twice in the three-ish years we've had Dish. So, I'm a little ambivalent but unsure that there's a better alternative. Nothing enough better to be worth the hassle of switching, anyway. Besides, bigus now loves the NFL Red Zone thing that apparently isn't on Direct, at least at his dad's house, so I'm pretty sure it would come down to keeping Dish for that as long as they don't increase their rate of hockey-related screw ups.

Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

The whole FSN wisconsin and Wisconsin hockey TV is such a frustrating thing for so many people and has been for years. The UW athletic dep. has really stopped caring about hockey being on TV sense Barry took over the athletic dep. full time in 2006. Does he have something to do with that who knows but i have been really disapointed in the Big Ten networks coverage of the sport. They seem to only cover games when two big ten teams are playing and even then they don't cover it that much, but yet basketball and football don't have to have 2 big ten teams playing for them to cover it. you see a program like Minnesota and every game is on FSN north, I live in Wisconsin and can watch every single gopher game with my extended sports package, yet there are probebly going to be 10 games or more not on TV at all.
