Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

Murray did not make the trip to UND.

Bummer, who dresses, Dolan had a pretty decent weekend last weekend so i'm guessing he will center the 4th line and bendy moves to wing, assuming is is well enough to go or else i think Turnbull is next in line. Either way i feel good about our lineup and goody in net...

According to the Sioux blog, Dolan didn't make the trip either.

Goalie Brett Bennett and forwards Jordy Murray and Sean Dolan will not make the trip, the paper says in this article. Murray is the brother of former Sioux forward Brady Murray. Expect Scott Gudmandson to start both games in net for the Badgers.

Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

The lines in WSJ blog yesterday had the top 3 lines the same as last weekend and the 4th line being P.Johnson, Turnball and Bohmbach. I would guess Bohmbach would be the center out of those 3 guys. Thurber and Springer were the 2 extra's on the trip.

Goody seemed to wander around more than what I've seen at the home games. He didn't look very comfortable doing it. Was it just me?

He is fun to watch; he's pretty quick. I just wish goalies would stay "up" when they face a shooter without interference in front. I can't remember which one, but he goes down, the shot goes over his glove into the net. He stays up, he makes the save.

FWIW

That shot was going low. The replay looked like a UW stick deflected it high. I don't think Goody had a chance.

Re: WISCONSIN HOCKEY 09-10 - Climbing The Mountain (7th Edition?)

Big weekend for the Badgers. Giving up the two goal lead last night was disappointing, but I won't complain about leaving Grand Forks with 3 points. Perhaps just as important, the Badgers now have the tie breaker over NoDak in conference and this will definitely help in the PWR comparison at the end of the season.

I think Gudmandson made a strong arguement to be the full-time goalie. From what I saw last night and what I heard from Posick tonight, he played out of his mind to keep the Badgers in it while they were flat. I doubt Bennett would have come back before the CC series anyway, but if Scott continues to play the way he did this weekend I think he should be given the nod as the #1 goalie.

Really really pleased with tonight's result. Feared the worst after the last two periods Friday night.

Dear Mike Eaves,

Please bench Craig Smith. The guy is a great talent, but he needs to learn how to stop being a hack.

Sincerely,
A Badgerfan

What did he get, I think 5 penalties in the series? :D

Nice series UW. Your domination in the new Ralph continues, unfortunately.
I'm not convinced of the DOTA though. I take back the comments from earlier. The Sioux got a ton of chances both nights...a DOTA wouldn't allow that to happen. ;)

Hopefully see you later this season. :)

So UND and SCSU fans can take back their claim of us being a DOTA then? We'll settle for best blue line in the nation, if you will.

UW doesn't even have the least goals allowed in the league, how can they have the best defense in the country? ;) :p

They go with the best defense is a good offense as their theme and join the rush.;)

I believe you misread my claim. I said best "blue line" in the nation. With that, offense if factored in. So yes, UW may give up more goals than other defenses, but their defensemen more than make up for it with the offense they bring to the table.

You mean the part where you were being a smart a-s-s? Those smiley faces sure work as nice disclaimers for ya so you can backtrack. Well played.

No, I mean the part where I was joking. You seem to take things a little too seriously around here. :)

:o   :p ;) :D
