Wisconsin Badgers 2020-2021

Another great day for hockey! I do believe at some point today I am going to blow chunks. To me, this is what the season is all about. Fighting for the NCAA title. Yes, winning the wwcha regular season title and the tourney are nice and all, but the goal is to make the ncaa's and fight for another title. If they win the other 2 things during the process, great, but it's all about this week. Obviously only 1 team will be happy at the end of the season and it's a hard thing to win. The odds are always against you no matter who you are, but this is Watts it's all about. Let's go RED!

Wisconsin vs. PC absolutely dominated the first, were outplayed in the 2nd and needed the refs in the 3rd. PP looked awful. I would not be excited if I was a Badger fan.

You are free to think anyway you want. Thanks for stopping in.

As a Badger fan, I am ALWAYS excited whether it is game 1 or 40.

The PP has been an issue all year, I don't expect it to get fixed anytime soon. Obviously in these huge games a PPG will go along way to securing a win. I think they are due.

Let's go RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it just me, or do Coach Johnson's PPs tend to be all or nothing? Every five years or so he'll have a unit with mostly Olympians on it that will get great chances on every PP. Otherwise, it seems that there are a lot of years where it keeps shooting itself in the foot and will do things like routinely pass the puck out of the offensive zone. Do they not practice it as much as some teams, are they constantly tinkering with it, or am I just remembering wrong?

Brette Pettet talking on the radio with Brian Posick during the break in the Ohio State game, making it sound VERY much like she has decided to play next year, and that there are other seniors thinking likewise.

Tough luck for all but the very top of the incoming freshman commits.

Very off topic but I haven’t been watching Wisconsin all that much this year and just noticed their roster, anybody know what happened to Jesse Devito to no longer be rostered? Transferring?

I was just going to post how difficult it can be to come back against the Badgers when they have a lead. That's about the time when the Buckeyes scored to close the gap to just one.

OSU’s going to be bummed if they review the tape and see the missed scoring chances. Also thought Muzz’s rode that top line a bit more than she should have. The third line seemed to be producing the best chances.

She was there at the beginning of the year. Maybe transferred at Xmas?

I feel bad for players like that, 'healthy scratch". Kayleigh Hanzlek was like that, transferred to Robt Morris and played on the second line. It takes a certain kind of individual who knows they can get ice time somewhere else to stay and "only" be a practice player. The UW volleyball team has a number of those, and they make the whole team better, and get little credit

For the heck of it, I googled her and got her LinkdIn page. She says that she is going to be going to Vanderbilt next year to work on a Masters in accounting. So, apparently graduating 'early' from UW (yay) and leaving hockey behind. :-(

Anyone know what's happened to Timothy? I'm thinking he might have had a little too much thinner celebrating last night's big win?

He posted early yesterday or Wednesday (?) that he had to travel for work, would only be able to listen to the radio broadcast of the first part of the game and doubted his hotel would have ESPNU for him to be able to watch the end. So he's tied up with work stuff, or is somewhere with poor 'public' internet access, or ... ??

Thanks for the update, robert. I'm guessing he found a bar wherever he is and was able to watch as much of the game as possible.

I'm sure somebody else must have noticed this before me, but the game in Erie on Saturday, March 20 will be ten years to the day - March 20, 2011 - when Wisconsin won the championship over a Hockey East team - BU - in Erie, PA.

Just sayin'

It was a mini Family vacation with my wife, daughter and sister. It was great listening to the radio on the way to Lacrosse, I love hockey on the radio. I usually don't post with my phone, I'm home now..........So I get into the hotel room, turn on the TV, and I found ESPNU! YYYEEESSS!!!! Just at THAT moment OSU scores to make it 3-2. NNNNOOOO! I sweat through 3 sets of clothing from that point on. I am still flying high, but the biggie is on a few hours. Hell of a game by the third line and Blair was great.

I have no idea Watts to expect. I found it kinda funny that the NE coach was essentially shocked by the speed of the game against UMD in the first period. UW can sustain the pressure on NE that UMD did for the first period for the whole game, they have enough depth. That makes me feel confident. I don't have a lot of respect for the eastern teams, their strength of schedule is weak, that makes me feel confident. If NE makes errors in transition like OSU did, it won't matter how great Fankel is, she will have no chance. Their top line and their goalie are statistically awesome. That is scary. UW made mistakes on both OSU goals. That is scary. OSU could have won that game had they hit the net on some great looks. It scares me that UW gave up too many great looks that OSU screwed up on. NE has the last change, so that will be a crucial advantage to them, but I feel great with UW's 1st or 2nd line against their #1 unit. If either team can win special teams, they will win the game. Whoever more effectively cashes in on the other's screw ups will win. I'd say it's a 50 50 games despite my western bias.
