So far all the forwards have at least one point and all 4 lines seem to gel together! As the season goes along that becomes so important.. If coach Johnson can afford to roll all four lines against most of the opponents they face it will keep everybody's legs fresher as the season goes along.. I couldn't agree more that though a bit snakebitten in the early part of this season, Wellhausen is a very important part of this Badger puzzle and plays a big part on her line with Pankowski and Clark..Yesterday she recorded 8 shots on goal and at least 5 were prime scoring chances.. You could see the chemistry the that line had towards the end of last season and it looks like they are on the same page every shift they are on the ice! They are only sophomores! The goals will come for Wellhausen as well but, she is doing an outstanding job on the forcheck and uses her speed well to create chances for the other 2! I really like the way the Badger defense has played up to this point as well.. I would put the Badger top 4 "D" against anyone else's.. It will be interesting to see how this season unfolds week to week but, I am very optimistic about this team!

I have the first weekend in December circled in maroon and red. Its always a great series but I am extra excited this year as it looks like both teams have elevated their talent (hard to imagine either team being able to do that). While these first couple of weeks are not going to be good indicators I am grateful both teams have a good chance to work through everything and should both be pretty set when they meet. Those should be classic games.

Does anyone out there have any info as to whether or not the UW games vs. St. Cloud will be video streamed or not? If so, please provide the link!

It is awesome. I was looking over the different U18 camp rosters over the summer and I saw her listed. Her numbers aren't eye-popping, but a team with 12 Clark's and Pankowski's wouldn't work (would it?), it will be neat to see her develop over the next 2 winters.

My daughter is very excited, (her name is Maddy) and she is Maddy's Rolfes's #1 fan. When Maddie P gets to UW there will be 3 Maddy/Maddie's on the team (Posick, Rowe and Rolfes), pretty cool for my daughter. A few of the UW players have friended my Maddy on facebook, that is very nice of them, since she is a special needs person, it makes her feel great. Maddy loves UW hockey and is my hockey buddy.

Apparently no game blog for today's game. That sucks.

Lines look the same and appears that they will continue to rotate Williams/Gardner in that 6th D position.

I was shocked when the live blog blew up when I clicked on it, I guess the new website has some growing pains. St. Cloud has a really nice stat tracker. Nurse with 2 shorties on the same PK....awesome. I think Panny did that earlier this year against Providence, or maybe that was just 2 shorties in one game but not the same pk. 3-0 UW after 2.

Hope they get those website links working sooner than later. Only reason I knew blog was active was because of the Twitter update.

Badgers roll 5-0 with something like a 45-8 shots on goal differential. Desbiens with 3 straight shutouts.

If there's ever been a random regular season series to get your hopes up regarding a band showing up, next weekend isn't a bad one. ;)

Yeah, there is literally nothing that runs up against them where the band couldn't show up. On the band website, there is nothing scheduled. My only thought is to contact them early and often next week. When you know that the fans, athletic department and band members want to come and it's unlikely they come, it's hard not to think someone at the top has something personal against the women's hockey program.

I've heard through the grapevine (i.e. a current band member) that they're planning on sending a band next week. I'm not sure if it's one or both games. But...yeah. That's a thing.

I really hope that the case, even if just for one game. I am now seeing that the Friday game is Student Night, so that's the night it would be vital to have the band there. In addition, I would really like to the see the students seating down at the end where the Badgers shoot twice. I remember last year on Student Night (think it was last year) where the Badgers dominated the play in the other zone so the students were completely missing out on the action and I could see they were bored because there was literally nothing happening in front of them. I realize that it's harder without seating going all the way around the other end, but I believe the students will enjoy the game much more (plus with the band hopefully).

UW had a disjointed lineup today, Nurse was out and Drake moved from the 5th d spot to the 2nd line on the wing, then the 3rd d pair was Gardner and Williams, who were rotating in the 6th D spot.

If Nurse is ailing, tell the Badger Band - they show up to play at hospitals, after all. Maybe that would get them over to La Bahn - you could put it on Youtube.

Great to see Miller get the SO Saturday.

Hopefully we'll get info on Nurse, UW needs all the firepower they have to crack the Bemiji D. Johnson is very tight lipped in info like that.
