5 goal outburst by UW in the 2nd. 5-1 after 2. UW played much better that period. Providence seems to be able to foil UW's breakout pretty well, but the puck was not in UW's end very much. ARD does have at least 3 huge saves in the game, UW is a little porous on the initial rush and back check.

Yes. Sowchuk has had a couple quality chances, and 4th line really showing up, with goals from Johnson and Harding.
Edit - and Doner. Three of the five from the 4th line.

Looks like it, Harding and Johnson have goals. Harding's goal was a bigtime snipe glove high right in the corner...so was Nurse's, low to the blocker.

I've decided that, considering her puck handling ability (and willingness to play the puck) I'll be mildly disappointed if Desbiens doesn't score a goal on an empty net by the end of her career. The odds are probably terrible.

5-1 final. UW took too many penalties in the 3rd period, really hurt the flow of the game. The freshmen did not really stand out, not that I thought they would, I was just curious to see how they compared to the vets. I'd say Nurse stood out the most, and ARD had some huge saves in the first 2 periods. It was sure worth the 10 bucks, that was fun.

Per pre-game notes, Gardner will make her debut in place of Williams. Otherwise, all lines remain the same.

8-1 Badger win. Pankowski with the hat trick and first career goals for Cogan and Shaver. Frankly, couldn't have hoped for a much better season opening series.

Frankly, I would have hoped for a much more challenging season opening series. This was a no-contest type of series from the moment it got confirmed on the schedule. I'm sure it was an enjoyable trip to Cali so maybe it wasn't a total waste of time.

The Sunday game against Ohio State will be on the Big Ten Network at 2:00 p.m. CST.
The UW website doesn't list it, but Mark Johnson mentioned it yesterday in his press conference and it is on the Big 10 Network schedule as well.

Little surprised (and disappointed) that the UW website isn't better highlighting the Sunday game on BTN. There was an article about it in mid-September, but really nothing since.
Also, seems like there should be a direct link to single game ticket purchasing. If one the main women's hockey page, it looks like the only options are season tickets, group tickets and family packs. Maybe it's right in front of me and just missing it.
