Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Badgers break out of their WCHA tourney slump in a big way. While it would have been nice to see an additional WCHA team make the NCAAs, I didn't want it at Wisconsin's expense.

Congrats to the whole program from bringing home their 5th WCHA tourney title. Team seems to be peaking at the right time of the year.

We get BU, awesome! I am so excited about this game. Time to dig into the stats and matchup.

You'll have the home ice advantage, so hopefully your fans won't start chanting, "LET'S GO RED!". ;)

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Badgers didn't seem to get done any favors by the NCAA. Match-up against Boston should be entertaining. Was it possible they would have been on the road if they didn't win the WCHA?

Technically they did do you a favor, since BU is actually lower in the Pairwise than Quinnipiac, though it's really ****ed close.

No. You could have lost to St. Cloud in the first round and still hosted.

Interesting. I think there would have been a lot of howling if Wisconsin lost to St. Cloud and still hosted, but it's a moot point.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

We do not. And our school colors are Scarlet and White... not red and white. :-P

Not exactly the first "red" visitor UW fans will have had to deal with: Ohio State (scarlet and grey), Nebraska (scarlet and cream). The UW men's hockey team played an epic multi-overtime game against Cornell in 2006, and everybody knew which 'red' was which.

It'll be OK (give or take a lame hired band, that is).

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Just got an e-mail from the athletic department confirming that my ticket request (Qty: 4) was filled. So that's cool. Definite advantage of being a season ticket holder. Tickets will be ready for pick-up and/or print-out on Tuesday. Curious where the seat locations will be.

Don't forget the "Crimson" last year (with the lame hired band). Although somebody once determined that the "crimson" is really magenta.

Maybe more than technically.....we really wanted a BU rematch, since last time our fourth line outscored their entire team, 3-2.

I'm thinking a "Cardinal > Scarlet" or "Our red is better than your red" sign is in order.

And "Bring The Band" may become "Let the band play" for this one. I haven't actually made new signs in advance in a while, so I think I'll make a couple, though they'll have to be low-profile, as sitting is probable.

In 2000, Wisconsin's "cardinal and white" played the Stanford Cardinal in the Rose Bowl; amazingly, the two 'cardinals' were clearly different shades, with Stanford being darker, almost an Ohio State shade.

I'm visualizing a sequel: "50 Shades of Cardinal".

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Having made the road trip to Madison for the last couple seasons to watch my Buckeyes play Wisconsin, I am now on the email list and received one today inviting me to purchase tickets. I will not be making the trek to Madison for this one but wish the Badgers well. It's a tough first-round matchup, but Wisconsin appears to be playing their best hockey right now. Good luck to both teams, but as a fellow WCHA member, Go Badgers!
