Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

History has shown that the band does get sent to home playoff games, if nothing else. Just wondering if the men's game that night could affect that.
I guess we're fortunate that our men and women teams each have their own band. About the only time there is no band is when they play exhibition games or when the students are away on break, and even then an alumni band will often be there. With the nice crowds the Wisconsin women games draw it's a shame they don't have a band at most of the games.

It shouldn't. We've seen football/hockey and basketball/hockey days have bands at both. Also, when almost all of the band was on the way to or in Indianapolis on the Friday before the Big Ten football championship, some band members stayed behind for the 2nd round NCAA tournament volleyball match before hopping on a bus. An NCAA tournament game when everybody's in town shouldn't be a problem.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Badgers with 1-0 lead after 1. Playing solid throughout the period and have had a couple of really good looks besides the Channell goal. Defense has been beat a couple of times and Desbiens came up big on the back end. Have to clean that up.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Badgers maintain 2-0 going into the 2nd intermission. Refs finally starting calling some penalties. Badgers had some decent looks on the PP, but couldn't connect. Like what I see so far, but North Dakota is going to throw the kitchen sink at them trying to keep their season alive.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Nurse puts the Badgers up 3-0 on a great PP deflection. No Dak going on their own PP with about 9 minutes left..

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Badgers win 4-1 with the final goal being an empty-netter by Nurse. Considering the opponent and the venue, it's a great win for Wisconsin. Let's see if they can take care of another team in green tomorrow.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Just Announced: WISCONSIN's BAND IS HERE!!!!!

I guess it's nice that they make the effort for playoff games, but this means by the end of the weekend, the Badger band will have played at more Women's hockey games in North Dakota this year, than they have in Madison. That's actually kind of insulting to me as a fan. I mean seriously, you can find the effort, time, and money to send a band to Grand Forks, but you can't get them to walk across campus for even a couple regular season games?

So is this where the term "bandwagon" comes from?

Great observation. Screw the local fans, but make a nice appearance out of state like you really care, when clearly they don't.

Let's finish the deal and knock off the Beavers for the title. I don't want the chance of having to play them again next weekend.

Awesome win for the gals and it's great to see ARD outplay SAB, who beat her out for all the wcha team glory.

You won't. If BSU gets in, it'll be headed to Minneapolis.

So you will be wearing some cardinal and white today....sweet! Let's go RED! Come on, you can do it.

On one hand, that would be crappy, I'd like to see and Eastern team get shelled in Minneapolis, but on the other hand, BSU seems to be the best equipped team to beat the rodents and getting them out of the way would be a good thing for UW (provided they take care of business next week). As long as 2 western teams make the FF and one is UW, I'll be a happy camper. Too bad it's impossible for BSU to play BC in the first round, I would have loved to see that.

Most of all at this point, I want the conference playoff title, and so do the gals, so screw BSU.

No, I'll be a neutral observer. It's hard to root against Cinderella, and I don't see a huge difference in any of the teams that would be sent to Minneapolis. Sure there are differences in players and style, but even a team like RIT has one of the best goalies in the country, and the Tigers know how to take care of business at tournament time. Never underestimate attitude; see what a positive one has done for BSU.

Good luck to both teams today. May the refs stay out of the way, but not be afraid to call something when a penalty is clearly committed. An approach of, "We don't want to decide the game," too often ends up helping to decide the game.

While not always obvious at the time, this is so true...
