You can cheer for us the next 2 weekends if it falls a certain way, but at least this weekend for sure. I do believe there is a common distain for the word "Boston" in WCHA fans in general.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

A more recent sighting of 29 as posted in another thread recently:

That's some bad D there. I'm confident UW will play lock down D. I just don't want to see the 4th line out with her on the ice, but since it's a single game elimination I don't know how much they will see the ice. How many lines does BU generally roll?

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

I don't think the 4th line played more than a shift or two against North Dakota and not sure they played much more against Bemidji (though I missed most of the third period). I'd be surprised if they see much time against BU unless there is a situation where the top 3 lines are just gassed.

BU will play three lines against you, although your third line is better than its third line. They have the edge on the top line. Your big edge is in net.

Just don't play BC defense:

Let me just drop into your conversation the fact that in the game played a few weeks ago Harvard's fourth line outscored BU's entire team, 3-2. (Gosh, have I ever mentioned that before on this board?)

That being the Beanpot semi?

I don't know how the lines have played since earlier in the year, or if the same people are still together, but it was the 2nd line that got burned at Ridder, the 3rd that scored 2

since MN & WI match up pretty much the same against BU, I'd give the edge to the WI forwards & goalie, if the WI D can avoid the puck taking a funny bounce off the ref ;), their chance of winning should be good

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

ARD and Clark are going up against Pankowski, Knight, Decker, Duggan, Rigsby and Vetter in the IIHF World Championship next month. Clark is the youngest Canadian by 3 years on the team. That says a lot right there. Clark and Pankowski will lead UW to the promised land. My prediction of ARD vs Rigsby in the next Olympics looks to be vectoring in the right direction for that to happen.

14 hrs til the battle, I am really pumped up. This is the one game I have been looking the most forward to all year (provided they secured home ice) since I was at the Harvard game last year with Rigsby's save of the century. I was also at the Mercyhurst game at the KC, nothing beats these elimination games.

On this we can agree, my Badger friend. Total suspense, total excitement, do or die. For a fan - and player - it doesn't get any better.

Unless, of course, your team is the one getting eliminated. I've yet to experience one of those that I enjoyed much. :(

I have. If the game is good enough, I'll enjoy it regardless. I enjoyed the Minnesota/Harvard final in 1989 and the 1995 Michigan/Maine semi even though the wrong team won both games. (My relationship with Michigan hockey was complicated up until they won in 1996.) I can still hear Randy Skarda hitting the pipe and I can still see this giant lobster claw reaching up as a prone Blair Allison made the save on a Mike Legg shot that should have won the game.

Those kinds of losses hurt but they're also what make the game great. I honestly can't understand sports fans who can't enjoy a good, hard fought loss. I don't think I could be a sports fan if I couldn't; the losing would drive me nuts.

Getting eliminated by a team that is on the same plane of talent would be far less painful than getting eliminated by a team that you are clearly better than on paper. As painful as it was to witness UW lose in OT to the rodents earlier in the year (non-elimination of course), it sucks less than losing to SCSU a few weeks ago. All one can ask for is that the gals play their best and see where the result goes. I just don't want the refs screwing up more than usual, though in the end the players still have the ability to play through the ref's screw ups, unless they screw up a goal call.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

The UW ticket office screwed up my ticket order for yesterday's game. I preordered 4 and added 3 on Monday and at willcall they only had 3 there fore me. They checked my account and saw I ordered 7, so we had to wait a few minutes, then they gave me my other 4 and we were on our way. The guy right behind me also had his ordered screwed up too. Luckily we got there early so we didn't miss anything. For an event like this they realy need 2 willcall windows. The line was majorly backed up just after we got through. Also when I ordered the 3 extra, they had issues running my credit card. When I hung up with them it was ok, then they called later and said it didn't go through, but then it did. Not the finest moment for the UW ticket office.
