Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Are the games at Ohio State going to be live video streamed at all? Any info would help...
One argument for having 'senior day' in two weeks is that parents coming from a long distance could come for senior day, hang around for the week, and then attend first round of WCHA playoffs (even though they'd see St Cloud for all four (and probably not) or five games).

OSU is still with CollegeSportsLive, the same system Minn and I think UW were with last year. You should be able to stream both with a one month rental for $9.95.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

The Friday home game against St. Cloud State has been moved to 3:00.

That is a plus, it increases the chance I can get there. My eldest can't cut his English class that day, I am bummed.

It seems to me that the revamped lines have increased Pankowski's production, but Nurse has fallen off a bit.

The revamped pp has been working well, what a relief.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

The power play has looked better... I still would like to see more of a net front presence though.. Too many times opposing goaltenders are getting good looks at the shots from the point. I'm not too worried about Sarah Nurse. That line (Nurse, McKibbon, Wellahusen) has been playing well and putting consistent pressure on opposing teams in the offensive zone. Just a matter of time and the pucks will go in!

Wellenhousen looks like a jet out there at times, she is speeding around with reckless abandon. I can hear a female voice in my head yelling "Go Baylee!" It must be her Mom or other female relative in regular attendance.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Yeah I have heard cheers from the crowd for her too in the 2 games vs. North Dakota I attended at LaBahn this year.. I agree she really does have some awesome speed and does fly on the ice.. I noticed she is not involved at all on the power play though. Would love to see what that speed could do with more space on the ice! As I said in my last post, that line of Nurse, McKibbon, and Wellhausen is exciting to watch. Nurse will break out of her slump this weekend! (my prediction)!!

Re: Wisconsin Badgers 2014-2015

Well, I was not expecting to see UW give up 4 in a game, that is the most disappointing part of the weekend. Good to see 6 goals scored on the weekend with the pp still producing. It's a little worrysome falling to 4 nationally, but the gap back to 5 is pretty big at this point as the ECAC teams keep beating each other.

Looks like UW's next 4 games will be against SCSU. The gals hopefully keep the scoring rolling and keep that scoring confidence up.

why?
the only difference is whether you'll end up in the bracket with Mn or BC, and which team goas to Madison to play in the 1/4 finals, which likely won't be a huge difference
so what difference does it make?

I want UW to host a first round game and if they drop to 5, they won't.

Wisconsin dropping to 5th in the Pairwise is very unlikely. Short of the Badgers losing a game (or two) to St Cloud, I don't think Quinnipiac can catch them, and it might take BU beating BC two or even three times for BU to catch them.

(And that assumes Harvard passes them for third, which has not happened yet, and is no better that a 50/50 to happen in the first place.

For what it's worth even if UW gets swept by St. Cloud and gets dumped in the 1st round of the WCHA tournament, AND if QU wins the ECAC, I still don't get UW down to 5th.

You sure has hell had better hope not because that's a one way ticket to Minneapolis for the first round. lol. But I'm fairly certain it can't happen. And I am 100% certain that it won't.

How's this for Pairwise Fun:

1) Harvard passing Wisconsin is 100% likely this weekend if Harvard wins both its games. Regardless of what Wisconsin does against St. Cloud, it will happen if Harvard sweeps, with the conference tournaments still to come.

2) HOWEVER -- if Harvard ties or loses to even one of its opponents this weekend, Wisconsin could lose both games this weekend to St. Cloud, have their RPI completely massacred, and they would STILL be in third place because they hold the TUC and CoOpp comparisons on Harvard.

Perfectly reasonable.

Note that if the Badgers drop out of the Top 4, they could even be sent to Mpls. for the first round of the NCAAs. The NCAA has been known to be more than a little hard-hearted when it comes to saving travel expenses. If this occurred, it would be a raw deal for both schools, and our league as a whole...hence the obvious importance of staying in the Top 4.

EDIT: TTT beat me to it, so I'll edit and say TTT is correct.

That would depend on who else is in from the WCHA. I think they'd rather send Wisconsin east than UND or UMD, because there is still the CHA champ to accommodate, and the committee would rather send that team to BC than a higher-ranking WCHA team like UND or UMD.

I don't think that is correct, if the game Harvard wins this weekend is against Clarkson, who is a common opponent with UW. I think if Harvard wins the Clarkson game, their CoP would be tied, and thus the pair would go to Harvard based on RPI.

Right -- Wisconsin isn't going to Minneapolis unless the bottom 4 is QU-BU-CU-CHA. But, still. Wisconsin isn't dropping to #5 anyway.

Ah, yes, that is correct. I was originally looking at what would happened if Wisconsin got swept by St. Cloud (with the hypothetical that no other games had happened at that point including Harvard's) and was surprised to still see Wisconsin still in 3rd. You're right about the Clarkson thing.

That is correct. If St. Cloud State sweeps Wisconsin in Madison, then the world will stop and no other games will ever be played.
