The camera angle here is awful. Too far away/not high enough from the ice. Was Fenway this bad last year? It also seems too bright.

CBC is better. Also, the blimp angle is pretty badass.

Loved seeing the Caps win.

Anyways, I don't know why American fans say Toronto being involved in the next Winter Classic would be a ratings killer. You have plenty of transplanted Canadian citizens living in FL or down south. I'm sure they wouuld pump up the ratings if their beloved Leafs were involved. NYR-Toronto needs to be the next one so all the Original Six can be in.

Also, how long does it take the rink to be ready? If it was a few days, maybe you could convince the Pinstripe Bowl to move up a couple of days so the rink could be ready at Yankee Stadium. It would be cutting it close, but it wouldn't look right at Citi Field.

I still think there's going to be one at Jerryworld sooner or later.

The problem with Jerry World would be the Cotton Bowl. You would need at least 2 days minimum I would think to get the temporary rink out and all set up for the Cotton bowl. Plus you would want another day for the football teams to do their walkthrus.

Oh, I didn't have a "Winter Classic" specifically in mind. (Which was silly of me considering the title of the thread). I figure any old game would probably be sufficient for Jerry. It's not like the wintry weather would be an integral part of such a game.

True, they could just keep the roof closed and play, but then you loose the whole romance of playing outside.

Then again, I would think it would be hard to feel like you're outside on the pond when you're playing under the worlds largest tv.

Apparently the fans posting comments don't see eye to eye with the writer of this puff piece on nhl.com.

In the end, there wasn't much more that hockey fans could ask for from NBC, which delivered top-flight pictures, an announcing foursome that was at the top of its game and a telecast that captured just about every nuance of the NHL's signature regular-season event.

my DVR did not figure out they changed the time for the Winter Classic. booooooooooooooooooooooooooo

does anyone know when it will be replayed?
also, I didn't see it mentioned, but any word on 24/7 being available to those of us without HBO (without buying a DVD)?
