Who goes first Lewis or Linstad?

Re: Who goes first Lewis or Linstad?

So has Linstad hustled the administration into keeping the old regime in place?

Re: Who goes first Lewis or Linstad?

Have observed in the past that coach changes don't usually happen until the NCAA tournament (or at least the league playoffs) is over unless they are initiated by the coach.

That would be a mistake by UCONN...I would say more than half of that team would transfer.

Aside from retaining current players, if there is to be a change they need to get the new coach out watching district championships, and Nationals. Obviously scouting is the primary objective, but visibility and some one to one marketing and sales of the school and program are essential to get things moving in the right direction.

Looks like this is holding up - Linstad still in the job (unless I missed something).....

Re: Who goes first Lewis or Linstad?

It is still very early in the hiring season.

Absolutely, but getting close to the firing season.... one potential driving force to get sometihng done is the upcoming USA Hockey nationals in early April. Would be ideal to have your head coach situation clarified for that ... pretty significant missed opportunity if a school is not there. Next event of significance wouldn't be until Rinksport or National Development Camp I don't think...

There is a buzz in the air today..........................Stay tuned

Re: Who goes first Lewis or Linstad?

I have never spoken to these people and I do not have any inside knowledge and as a total guess some people that come to mind are;

Andy McPhee
Jodi McKenna
Maura Crowell
Jamie Wood
Josh Sciba
Grant Kimball
Jim Fetter
Dan Koch
Mark Bolding
Allison Coomey
Meredith Roth

Unfortunately this year at UConn is bad timing for Julie Chu.

After tonight there will changes on the men's side before there will be changes on the women's side at Maine.

Roth: not enough experience PC isn't that good
Coomey: perhaps, heard good things BU does really well
Bolding: does very well in D3, his name was thrown around on here for the VT job, seems to me that he doesn't want to leave a good thing
Koch: Any school looking for a Coach, would hire this guy in a nano second. By far the best on this/ any list.
Fetter: has a lot to offer, also the ability to grab some Canadian kids
Kimball: VT isn't good and will continue to be not good thus he doesn't seem to recruit/ coach well
Sciba: has head coach experience
Wood: would be an excellent choice if Koch doesn't apply
Crowell: not yet and Harvard & UCONN are to different
McKenna & Mcphee: don't know anything about them

What does this job pay? I think it would be funny if Lewis got the job, only because of the thread title. She might apply, didn't she put in for the VT job?

Would he want to go? Being 2nd in command at certain programs that are willing to commit to women's hockey may be better than the main job at certain others. Similarly, didn't Wood go to UNH in the hope of succeeding McCloskey when Brian decides to call it quits? If so, UNH job >>> UConn job.
