When Will St. Cloud Fold/Choke/Cash-It-In?

I can count on you to ask the spectacularly BAD QUESTIONS. Thank you ... deeply. Here's where. Since the 01/02 season SCSU has performed miserably "down the stretch". Only thrice did they perform at or better than their season winning percentage and all three of those years were close to .500 seasons overall. Each and every other year they "crapped the bed". Here's the data:

01/02 -- 29-11-2 overall record -- starting Feb 22nd they finished the season going 3-6-0
02/03 -- 17-16-2 overall record -- starting Feb 15th they finished the season going 3-6-2
03/04 -- 18-16-4 overall record -- starting Feb 15th they finished the season going 0-7-2 ... Hint-o-rama they were 18-9-2 on Feb 14th
04/05 -- 14-23-4 overall record -- starting Feb 12th they finished the season going 1-7-1
05/06 -- 22-16-4 overall record -- starting Feb 17th they finished the season going 5-6-1
06/07 -- 22-11-7 overall record -- starting Feb 16th they finished the season going 4-6-2
07-08 -- 19-16-5 overall record -- starting Feb 8th they finished the season going 8-4-2
08-09 -- 18-17-1 overall record -- starting Feb 7th they finished the season going 3-5-1
09/10 -- 24-14-5 overall record -- starting Feb 16th they finished the season going 5-6-1
10/11 -- 15-18-1 overall record -- starting Feb 4th they finished the season going 4-6-2
11/12 -- 17-17-5 overall record -- starting Feb 17th they finished the season going 5-3-1

That's a legacy of peeing down the leg. A history of season ending futility if you will. I bet you don't ask me too many questions ever again huh?

OH!!!!!

Why are you cherry picking data? Some years you chose 9 games, some 14. Keep it consistent, slappy. Secondly, going into last nights game, we were 9-1-1 in our last eleven games. So in our last twelve games we are 9-2-1. What is our record since we took over 1st? That would be a good gauge of choking.

Re: When Will St. Cloud Fold/Choke/Cash-It-In?

UAA also had two years where they finished .500 or better "down the stretch". So pretty much exactly the same as SCSU. Bluffski fans can be proud of that. And anyway ... we all know UAA's record has been horrible though they are the ONLY WCHA team to EVER win a WCHA playoff game at the Mariucci against the Gophers ... They have ONLY done that THREE times to the rest of the WCHA's ZERO times. And what the eff does UAA's bad record have to do with the subject of this thread?

just pointing out how being a UAA fan sucks even worse than being Jan.

Play with the stats all you want. It's clear that SCSU blows goats down the stretch. The history is there. SCSU is one of the worst teams in college hockey down the stretch when they've had an otherwise notable year. Deal with it. Own it. Gain acceptance. Stop living in denial. The first step to overcoming a problem is to acknowledge the problem. You cannot spell SUCKS without SCSU ... K?

Before this weekend you were in 1st place with two games in hand over anyone that reasonably might catch up. We're just here in this thread to watch and see if they can earn a chance to host the worst team ever (yeah ... UAA ... the worst team ever in college hockey ... right?) in the WCHA playoffs. Give it time Nancy. The end of the season will arrive and we'll see then how badly they soiled their panties.

I am not playing with the stats, you are.

I know the history of SCSU hockey. Most people on this site do. We are still in first. Pat yourself on the back when the season is over and we aren't in first.

Now that I think about it, Mr. Stats, if you have won 3 games at Mariucci, why do you want to play at the NHC where you have only once over the past 25 years?

UAA has won more than 3 games in the Mariucci. Three of their wins at the Mariucci have come in the WCHA playoffs. No other WCHA team has EVER won a single game at the Mariucci in the WCHA playoffs. I want UAA to play at the concrete center this year in the hopes that they beat SCSU keeping them out of the final Final Five and with the idea that it will greatly damage their chances of being selected to the NCAA Tournament. It seems likely though that even if UAA were to upset SCSU that they'd probably sneak into the NCAAs. I'm no pairwise genius though. It's just a hope. Can UAA beat SCSU on their home ice in the playoffs? Yep. That can certainly happen. Will it or am I saying it will? I don't know and no I'm not. It would just be sweetness. I want to see those twerps in your fanbase cry. Just the same way you and they revel in our sorrow at how bad our program has been. And I want everybody else on these boards who might enjoy that to see it unfold in this thread. Yep, I'm a

Nice to see Donald can still celebrate when UAA doesn't lose a game on the weekend.

Re: When Will St. Cloud Fold/Choke/Cash-It-In?

St. Cloud will enter the month of March in first place in the WCHA standings.

Someone equates that to "peeing down their legs" and "crapping their pants" and "leaving logs in the bed sheets".

SCSU will have to use the UAA clubbed seal sweaters to clean up that mess at the NHEC in three weeks.

Maybe because SCSU is a team that UAA beat this season, and almost swept? Yep, that's right. UAA won 3-1 and lost 4-3 in OT. Both games UAA was up 3-0. This is the match up I'd like to see myself. Not for the same reasons as Donald, but because maybe UAA has some confidence knowing they played them so hard in Anchorage.

Maybe, but winning in your building is a far cry from winning in ours and we are most certainly not the same team you guys played back at the end of November.

That is reasonable. But I agree with FTLT, playing us at the NHC is a lot different than playing at Sullivan. I think UAA has a very big advantage when they play at home because of the distance their opponents have to travel.

Who revels in UAA fans sorrow? Because SCSU Euro made one insensitive comment, now all SCSU fans are your sworn enemies? You might need counseling.

Ayeah. And just think, half of their games are on the road and they have to deal with that "very big disadvantage". Welcome to the life of a UAA hockey player.

Re: When Will St. Cloud Fold/Choke/Cash-It-In?

I'd love to see St. Cloud State hockey crash and burn down the stretch but the reality is that they are a talented team and by far the most surprising team in the WCHA this year. St. Cloud has every opportunity to win the regular season and will be a threat in the NCAA'S. Are they the best team in college hockey...not even close. But will they be a contender for the Frozen Four...yes.

If I was an Anchorage fan, I'd be more concerned about whether my team will win another game, not when St. Cloud will choke.
