I've been listening to my old mix CDs, culled from file-sharing networks. It's amazing how my tastes have changed. I found a CD with Fuel, Nine Inch Nails, John Mayer, etc, and I don't listen to them any more.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Question: I want a bigger iPod, but I don't know how big I want to go. I want something that's still manageable for running, and I want to be able to create a playlist, so what do you recommend?

I have an iPod Nano which is 8g, has a touch screen, will play Genius lists, has a workout app (albeit it's not the greatest) and is probably less than a full sq inch. Great for the car, working out, mowing the lawn...

Last count in our house we have:

Classic 160gb (x2)
Classic 60gb
Classic 8gb
New Nano 16gb
Touch 16gb
Touch 32gb (x2)

My wife had the 8gb classic but ended up frustrated with it because it couldn't hold quite enough music. She's nothing like me when it comes to music consumption, but even she was tired of having to switch out songs. So far the new 16gb nano is working out.

You seem to listen to a lot of music, so I'd suggest at minimum the 16gb, which is as high as the new models go before you have to go to a Touch. You can certainly pick up used Classics in the 30gb range on eBay if you think that 16 is too small.

Btw, both 160s, the 60 and the 16gb touch are mine. The 60 stays hooked up in the car, one of the 160s is for concerts, the other is for albums and the 16 is for biking/mowing/working out. Love my iPods!

My bottom line advice would be to go bigger than you think is the minimum. At first I thought one 160 would be enough for me, but it filled up. Then I decided to pick up a separate unit for concerts, so I picked up the 60. Then I ran out of room on the 60 and had to pick up a second 160.

I realize that I'm a freak/hoarder when it comes to music, but I also know that every time I thought I had enough memory, I was mistaken. :o:)

PS. The 16gb Touch was my son's and he ran out of room and went up to the 32.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

So, somehow I ended up on Y-tube looking at old Trip Shakespeare performances and was reminded of some of the openers we had to endure in PACKED clubs waiting for TS to take the stage.

Bands like the 27 Various (meh), Willy Wisely Trio, Gear Daddies (LOVE), Run Westy Run and Surahoolies - bought their CD at the show as we liked them quite a bit.

On the W T F, this is complete ****ing torture, end of the spectrum was Billy Goat. Seeing this video now, some 20 years later, they aren't as bad as I remember, but they were PAINFUL the night we saw them.

My wife and I still laugh about Billy Goat and their, um, stage show which included a member with a giant cutout head that she pranced around the stage with and the last song where two of the male members romped around the stage pretending to dry hump each other doggie-stye. The crowd at First Ave. was like, okay... as they left the stage to a forced-polite smattering of applause and bewildered looks. :)

Pretty sure the drummer was either in tighty-whities or a diaper and he was one of the dry-humpers.

Anyone else ever catch Billy Goat?

Slap Shot?

I do listen to a lot of music. I just imported all my music into iTunes, and everything including music from file-sharing and CDs loaded to my computer comes to 5322 songs, or 33.27 GB. Plus there's a bunch of CDs I haven't put on my 500 GB external HD yet.

As for today, I'm listening to Wilco's "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" and Tom McRae's "Just Like Blood." "Stronger than Dirt" has become an anthem in my life...

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Today's offerings include:

"Takk" by Sigur Ros
Vanilla Sky Soundtrack
"Feel Good Ghosts (Tea Partying Through Tornadoes)" by Cloud Cult

Beyond "Feel Good Ghosts" and "Advice from the Happy Hippopotamus," did Cloud Cult release anything else?

And I have an iTunes question: when I imported my music from My Music to iTunes, it imported multiple copies of songs. Any way I can fix that or prevent it from happening, or am I going to have to go through and manually delete the extras?
