Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread
Question: I want a bigger iPod, but I don't know how big I want to go. I want something that's still manageable for running, and I want to be able to create a playlist, so what do you recommend?
Last count in our house we have:
Classic 160gb (x2)
Classic 60gb
Classic 8gb
New Nano 16gb
Touch 16gb
Touch 32gb (x2)
My wife had the 8gb classic but ended up frustrated with it because it couldn't hold quite enough music. She's nothing like me when it comes to music consumption, but even she was tired of having to switch out songs. So far the new 16gb nano is working out.
You seem to listen to a lot of music, so I'd suggest at minimum the 16gb, which is as high as the new models go before you have to go to a Touch. You can certainly pick up used Classics in the 30gb range on eBay if you think that 16 is too small.
Btw, both 160s, the 60 and the 16gb touch are mine. The 60 stays hooked up in the car, one of the 160s is for concerts, the other is for albums and the 16 is for biking/mowing/working out. Love my iPods!
My bottom line advice would be to go bigger than you think is the minimum. At first I thought one 160 would be enough for me, but it filled up. Then I decided to pick up a separate unit for concerts, so I picked up the 60. Then I ran out of room on the 60 and had to pick up a second 160.
I realize that I'm a freak/hoarder when it comes to music, but I also know that every time I thought I had enough memory, I was mistaken.

PS. The 16gb Touch was my son's and he ran out of room and went up to the 32.
