Some 80's stuff, a band called Daniel Amos. I saw them play for this tour at a rundown church in Minneapolis. One of the first bands to really start utilizing visual medai during shows:

This may be my favorite song at the moment.

Also, heard this on the radio a few weeks ago, and was just blown away. Now, before this, I had heard one Mink DeVille song in my entire life, and as I was listening to this, I was trying to figure out who it could be; not from the 60's, definitely late 70's-early 80's post punk New York scene, I'm thinking to myself, and I go "this must be Mink Deville". Sure enough.

And still stunned by this every time I hear it. Never was all that impressed by Absolute Beginners the song(love the movie), but the limited edition of Bowie at the Beeb from 2000 had an extra disc of a live show he played there that summer, and this version is just astounding. Actually, that whole show from the bonus disc is simply amazing. It's a bit polished compared to a lot of his stuff but the band is so damm good, and you can see he's having a blast onstage.

Interesting stuff, I'd never heard Deville before, sounds good.

Bowie - It's such a bummer that his health issues have forced him to lay low for the last 8 years or so (no touring, no albums, etc)

Black Angels. They've had two very good records since their first, but I'm always drawn back to this one:

Decided that I couldn't deal with the office today. Working from a coffee shop and bumping to the Chemical Brothers - We Are the Night.

I should listen to this through earbuds more often.

Almost done, will probably need to do another CB (at least one more) album after this.

Great music to process photos to... :)

70's Radio playlist that I made.

Couple hundred tracks that I compiled on shuffle.

Notables so far this time through:

Styx - Lorelei, Al Stewart - Year of the Cat, The Byrds - Drivin' Wheel, Foghat - Slow Ride, Curtis Mayfield - Pusherman, SMB - Wild Mountain Honey, NRPS - Lonesome L.A. Cowboy

Currently: Dr. John - Right Place, Wrong Time

70's = Rock's Greatest Decade :)

Aerosmith 3-28-78 - Boston

At the height of their pre-rehab prowess.

Really like 70's Aerosmith. Really hate the rest.

Arcade Fire- the Suburbs. Their best album to date; I'd say it's better than Funeral.

Muse- Black Holes and Revelations. I was running this morning and my iPod started "City of Delusion" as I was finishing. I totally picked up the pace and finished strong!

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Have moved on to Gorillaz - The Fall

First time I've listened to it although I've had it for a few months.

First impression: Sounds like what it is - a collection of half thought out ideas recorded while on tour.

Not horrible, but not overly compelling either.

I'm a big fan of Wagon Wheel, but that is the only one I've heard from them. I'm guessing its their most well known song, since I've heard it many times.
