The Spiritualized concert at 1st Ave last night was sick!!

Cool!

I know there's a minimum age, but isn't there a MAXIMUM age too? :p

I haven't been in First Ave. since 1993. The good old daze. :)

You might then be surprised by the average age at that show. ;) And while the days of going 2+ times a month are long gone, I still try to get there a half dozen times a year or more.

Oh, and listening to this now:

Picked up a 60gb iPod Classic to go along with my (full) 160gb one.

Now, I can put my jam band (Dead, Phish, SCI, WSP, David Nelson Band, Kimock etc.) shows on the 60 and all the rest of my music will remain on the 160.

Although it still won't all fit, I should finally be able to have the majority of my music with me at all times. You may all rest easy now. :)

I'm a big fan of Wagon Wheel, but that is the only one I've heard from them. I'm guessing its their most well known song, since I've heard it many times.

certainly their best known song... wagon wheel was a song that dylan started writing but abandoned a long time ago... the lead singer came across it, completed it, then sought out dylan to get his blessing on it... he agreed and they share writing credits on it...

Tennessee Pusher, O.C.M.S., and Big Iron World are all pretty solid...

Got the 60gb half full.

Listening to Phil Lesh & Friends from 7/3/99. The friends include Steve Kimock and Barry Sless on lead guitars - the best two living guitarists at playing Grateful Dead music. Simply amazing work. :)

My iPod is almost full; I think I have the music I need to carry me through 15.5 miles on Saturday, including Counting Crows, Radiohead, the Beatles, Fireflight, White Stripes, Amy Winehouse, Family Force 5, Spin Doctors, VAST, ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Death Cab for Cutie, and so much more.

Definitely hold out for the 160. It's great and still a little mind-boggling to me that all that music can be carried and accessed so conveniently.

Speaking of Rush...

There's so much 70s awesomeness in this photo. :)

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

awesome picture!
it's funny seeing the double-neck guitars, I saw Hold Steady bust those out 2 years ago in Madison and shocked it wasn't a prop or some ironic "statement"

yeah, the 160g, I'm the type of person that if I have music on a mobile device I want to access the entire collection...a bit pricey but I'm taking the plunge and joining the year 2000;)

Picked up Jack White's Blunderbuss a few weeks ago and finally got a chance to listen to it straight through. Very solid. I dig it more than the White Stripes albums.

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Hüsker Dü - Candy Apple Grey
Beatles - Rubber Soul
Meat Puppets - Out of my Way

Trampled by Turtles' Stars and Satellites is effing awesome. I must be getting old, because I have been into music like this more and more lately. My playlist isn't nearly all metal anymore.

This in a way. I still stick to my roots but artists like TBT, Ray Latmantage (sp), Avett Brothers, Mason Jennings et al have found their way into regular rotation in recent times. (although this style of music has typically always been a small part of my catalog).

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

The Who - Live at the Isle of Wight

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Eddie Vedder - Into the Wild & Dead Man Walking

Wish he'd do more stuff like this...

Re: What's on your Playlist? USCHO Music Thread

Ben Folds Five- Whatever and Ever Amen. "Song for the Dumped" is the best breakup song ever.

Van Halen is fighting again, allegedly. They've postponed concerts from June 26th on.

What a surprise, eh? I blame Eddie.

I LOVE the first 5 albums or so, but can't imagine going to see this anyway. Just not sure how David would play as a 60-something year old. Eddie's been solidly drunk for about 30 years straight. No Michael? Blech!

I still picture them in my mind's eye in early-80's form.
