As I did the last time I took something on this spectrum, I came out left-libertarian. This quiz puts me farther left than I was the last time—I remember only being about a 2—but that may (a la XYZ) just be the way I interpreted the questions.

I think the questions regarding economics tossed me to the right quite a bit more than I anticipated. And I certainly agree with LynahFan with regards to legislating morality. Find me a bill that can't be twisted into a morality play in some fashion or another, and I'll show you a bill that reads "Water is wet."

So, it seems that a good chunk of the people on here are center-right libertarians. I guess that's a bit of a surprise. I figured most would be libertarians but I always saw the board as left-leaning.

I wonder what a statistically valid random sampling of the population would show?

If we're split fairly evenly between the upper right, lower right, and lower left quadrants (I am guessing very few are in the upper left), that would certainly hint at the possibility/plausibility of a 3rd party gaining traction in this country (eventually). The GOP clearly favors the upper right, and the Dems are the lower left. Most people (at least on here) who are in the lower right appear to loathe them both.

I was always under the assumption that the GOP used to be in the lower right quadrant until the last decade or so.
