Seriously though, the amount of CRL's shouldn't be too surprising as if you think of the makeup of this board, there are very few hardcore social "conservatives" -- rather you get a healthy chunk of people who, though they might lean right on some things, are by and large pretty liberal on social matters. Save for 5mnmajor since he just makes things up as he goes along.

I'm pretty ordinary on the overall L/R scale, but my contempt for cultural warriors is near the top. Guessing my responses registered as anti-abortion, keeping me from the very top...

So how do we make sense of the grid? I think I've got a few ideal types down, but I'm waffling on where to put blue dogs and liberal dems...

(edit: You could probably put a Rockefeller Repubs tag level with RINO, and slightly to the right)

Blue Dogs would be slightly southwest of neocons, if anything. All but the most ultra-liberal (crazies like Kuchinich) of "liberal" Dems would be 2-3 squares northeast of center.

NOTE: I'm assuming this is like Political Compass - East/West is economic views, and North/South is social views.

I took it twice, at different times and ended up left on the border of authoritarian and left mid-libertarian. A little to the left of the line interventionist and mid left for social and both. I find myself schizophrenic when it comes to social issues. I don't like legislation but I don't trust human nature for people to take into consideration how their actions effect others.
