What is your political stance?

Re: What is your political stance?

Yes, but I'd like to see the logic behind such a stance (organ harvesting?).

I'm tired of political candidates *****-footing delicately around the issue of abortion. Every time I turn on the TV, there's always some group of hippies protesting "for choice" or "for life." Each group ****es the other off, and no candidate will take a strong enough stance on the issue of abortion, so I've decided to form a political party of my own:

I have a different stance on abortion: I'm against abortion, but for killing babies. That way everyone loses, and I win. I'm neither pro choice, nor pro life; I'm pro you-shutting-the-hell-up. The only way I'd be "pro choice" is if it meant I could choose which babies I could abort, and only then if I could lift the age restriction to 80. I was at this mall the other day watching some ****ty documentary when I came out of the theater and saw old people dancing to country music in the courtyard. I couldn't remember the last time I saw a group of people begging this hard to be aborted.

Re: What is your political stance?

my head hurts.

Tends to happen when one is reminded of the gruesome reality.

It's worth pointing out that a significant majority of abortions worldwide abort girls. Women's rights, indeed.

Re: What is your political stance?

Maybe someone who is more intelligent than I am can explain this, but isn't the decision to abort about religion in the end and don't we in this country generally agree to a freedom of religion.? so if that's the case, why do we tell people what religion to believe in?

We don't tell people what religion to believe in. The Old Testament says "You shall not murder" Exodus 20 v13. Christians are not the only religious group who read the Old Testament. In this case our country's legal code and the Old Testament agree on something.

Re: What is your political stance?

But if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior then you're going to burn in Hell.

Under that definition many forms of birth control are also "murder". Yet, everyone ripped George Stephanopoulos for asking that very question to the Republican Field at the debate he moderated.

Re: What is your political stance?

I think that the best solution is to legalize murder. As long as you can prove that the person doesn't deserve to live, you can kill them.

It fascinates me that no one in the group rabidly opposing abortion seems to want to do anything to prevent conception. Also fascinating- we should not have abortion and we should definitely not support any social programs that would care for the babies that come out like food stamps, WIC, Head Start, etc. Of course the lack of education and prevention should not matter because fornicating is against the rules but when the kid comes out not providing resources perpetuates the cycle.

Re: What is your political stance?

but when the kid comes out not providing resources perpetuates the cycle.
Are you saying unplanned pregnancies are perpetuating homosexuality? :D

THAT might get the religious right to change their abortion stance. :p

Re: What is your political stance?

I've never met anyone that is pro-abortion.

The Freakanomics guys arguably come close, when they point out that the drop in crime in the 90s started about 17-18 years after Roe v Wade.

Or, more simply, abortion made NYC safe again.

Well, not counting . . . ahh . . . I don't feel like having that conversation. So let's just say that a scope condition for "safer" is having already been born.

Except in war, or when it was ordered by god, or.... well the list gets a rather big and it's been kind of a long day, so I'll just summarize that it's only murder if you can't find a justification, of which there are many.

And please pull the other leg when you say "we don't tell people what religion to believe in" when dun DADA! everyone of the herp a derps trying to be the republican candidate for president is saying no abortion for religious reasons or saying how they want to enforce other religious laws on the land while they court the support of extremist religious groups.

Well, what a surprise.

Like most, I would imagine there is a whole lot of context left out of the questions that could radically change some of the answers. For instance, God forbid anyone to try interfering with my right to bear arms, but I wonder sometimes about Joe down the street and his guns.

I am surprised I am that much to the left of center. I'm also a little surprised that I'm "only" a 3.81 in my foreign policy views.
