What College Hockey is to you.

Aren't they 9pm games or do you live out east? Personally, I like the west coast trips as the 9pm games work well with my familial schedule.

Everyone's in bed and I got Hawks/Canucks right now.

Isn't Schneider the red-headed BC goalie we beat in '06?

I can see where it'd get old having lots of divisional games at that time though. You guys should be in with the Hawks, Wangs and Blues and always should have been.

Edit: That frickin' redhead is standing on his head. Huge save after huge save.

You're right, they are 9pm. Seems later than that sometimes. I would love it if they would put the Wild back where they belong, which is with the Wings, Hawks, and Blues.

5hit, Dirty--that was supposed to be positive, not negging. Where the fresh hell did you find that gif?

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

For instance, UND currently has 11 Canadians on their roster, and anyone who believes those Canadians are there for the education is fooling themselves and should refrain from trying to sell that load of bs.

Canadians don't value education.

UND should go after true American scholars. Like Phil Kessel.

Thanks for reminding me of this! Brad Eidsness with his 3.88 GPA, multiple academic awards and currently being enrolled in Grad School is not at UND to get an education. He's simply there to play hockey. Yep. JDubbs just fails at pretty much everything he attempts.

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

ronmexico gave me an idea. In addition to schools being required to have no more than 3 Non-Minnesotans aka Canadians, the Star Spangled Banner should be replaced with this:
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Khokx5p0-bQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Just don't yell "SIOUX" somewhere when it's playing/being sung.

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

I...uh...Lucky Number Slevin is all I can think of, outside of Pearl Harbor.

And DaveStPaul, I never thought I would know another person who knew the intricacies of Indiana basketball and Minnesota hockey quite so well as I did. You certainly know both of them better than I do. Very cool.

Hey, thanks. You know, when I was getting ready for college, there was no way I was going to stay in Indiana. It just seemed too inward to my cool-*ss teenage self. Then my first year of college was the year IU beat Syracuse for the NCAA title, and I got this weird sense watching them run through the tourney. It was kind of a shock to realize it was pride.

Anyway, I like your screen name. It's a rare combo we've got, that's for sure. :)

And Lucky Number Slevin? Loved that movie.

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

Here I was dumb enough to think this thread was going to be something interesting, like how college hockey is a chance for us to stay connected to our Alma Maters, or a shared experience between father and daughter, or the best show in town every weekend, you know, something that actually mattered.

Hey, people have hijacked threads before. Just because one person wanted it to go one way doesn't mean everyone else who posts subsequently can ignore what that person wanted and turn it into something else instead.

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

They should come out with a reality show that entices the entire country to turn into Minnesota.

egads, Minnesota gave us Al Franken as Senator and he was the 60th and deciding vote in favor of Obama'care'. What a disaster! Minnesota should hang its head in shame over the blatant voter fraud....more votes cast in certain swing districts than registered eligible voters available to vote in those districts yet those results were allowed to stand??

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

No my point is this.

Both fanbases have ALOT to say about the Gopher program, and most flat out deny the fact the same program they love to take shots at supplied them with alot, wether directly or indirectly.
But you also gave us Yanni, so we still get to take our shots.

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

Minnesota? Never heard of it. What state is it in?

Re: What College Hockey is to you.

Here's a sincere question for the OP (who's mentioned MN recruit Wilcox) and for the UMD poster who mentioned Kyle Schmidt from Hermantown:

Does it mess up the "pride in using in-state guys" thing that they almost all spend years in major junior? It'd be pretty easy to say Wilcox is really learning how to be a great player in Tri-City, and Schmidt got to be a great player in Fairbanks.

Point of clarification - those are NOT major junior, they are junior, but not major junior. My guess is no. That the OP's answer is they just had some polish applied in the last couple of years. They were developed in whatever organization they played in their formative years.
