I'm guessing it probably doesn't bother the OP either that some of these evil canadians recruited down to play college hockey in the states later went on to be successful MN state high school hockey coaches, bringing with them knowledge they gained growing up in Canada but now willing to pass along to Minnesota kids in their "formative years". Guys like Cary Eades, Curt Giles, Jim Archibald, etc...
Let's face it, hockey has benefitted from people who have developed the Minnesota high school game, and the Minnesota high school game, and the University of Minnesota by extension, have benefitted from a lot of hockey knowledge from outside of that state, including Canada. By some college hockey fans poking fun at or ridiculing the U of M hockey program, or more likely, some of it's fans, we are not denying this fact.
