I was considering being a bit presumptuous and starting a thread for WMU-FSU this weekend, but decided against it.

Both teams with a good start to the season. Western with more road wins than I can remember in recent history. I'm considering a split as progress still, but it would be great to raise the expectations a little higher. Should be an interesting test for WMU.

It is amazing how dead it is here. Maybe one more good weekend and the posters will be back. We should have a new thread and I nominate you as the new thread starter. I promise to respond. Our new coach will not be happy with a split nor will he be pleased with our effort if we fail. This is refreshing. He deserves better support than what he has gotten recently.

Yeah, but it probably wasn't dead at Lawson for the game last Saturday, which is probably more important. Wasn't the place packed for that MSU game? Hopefully with noisy and boisterous Bronco fans of course.

It was awesome. The rink was packed and it was loud. I have to go back many years to remember a crowd like that at Lawson. After years of being told by our coach that Western cannot compete successfully in the CCHA, we are hearing and seeing that we can.

Eh, there have never been a lot of Bronco posters on here that I can remember.

Meh. Work in progress, and you can't expect to win too often when you give up two short handed goals.

A loss and a gimmick win up in Big Rapids. Not the best results, but some points are better than none. I must admit I am encouraged by their ability to get road points. Thanks for the highlights Dominic. :)

Bumped from the depths of hell or some absurd page.

11-6-5, 8th place in the CCHA but only two points out of 5th, 12th in the PWR.

Having a team that doesn't suck *** is kind of fun!

Seems to be WMU's luck that they are playing much better hockey at the same time the middle of the CCHA is all playing at least decently. There were recent seasons where a .500 CCHA record would have them sitting in 4th or 5th instead of 8th. Of course if the season ended today, they'd make the NCAAs, which is the important thing. I think right now the toughest thing staring at the Broncos is the final 3 weekends. 4 on the road at UM and MU, then a H/H with us. Not that looking ahead ever helps things. Kudos on a nice weekend in Alaska.

It is amazing. I thought the program would improve this year but the dramatic improvement is mind boggling. Ohio State is coming and that should be interesting. They look and sound a bit like Western only with more size. They just swept Miami.

This should be a great series, probably the most interesting one in the CCHA this weekend. Two teams trying to turn around perceptions of their respective programs, and so far both doing a pretty good job of it.

Literally no tickets left for Saturday's game. SRO is sold out. Haven't seen that in Kalamazoo in some time.

Fantastic game. It's amazing to see a Western team play 60 minutes no matter what the score is. It was pretty even but we had the better goaltender and our transition game killed them. As soon as they pulled their goalie I knew it was 4-2. Time for the brooms!
