Western Michigan Hockey 2010-11: Maybe it was all a dream.

Re: Western Michigan Hockey 2010-11: Maybe it was all a dream.

I've got a confession to make. I watched the game on Saturday. Sorry. I won't watch another one again this season.

As one of the few Bronco fans who post on this site, I would feel remiss if I did not post to say how astounding this season has been and how proud I am (for the first time in many many years) to be a Bronco fan. I hoping that some day other Bronco fans will discover USCHO and we will be able to discuss this new era in Bronco hockey.

Western Michigan has a lot to be proud of. Talk about bringing your A+ game with you. The only other thing to say, is enjoy the bye week. Well deserved and hard earned.

I think that the two best coaches in the league met this weekend and they split. I'm looking forward to a great rivalry with two class programs. Good luck to both for the remainder of the season.

Avoiding ND, Michigan, and Miami before the Joe is all one can ask for this year. They're out of the tournament right now, but if they can get to the Joe, they'll have a reasonable shot. Western's played well enough at times in the past three weeks to have stolen a game from each of them on their home ice, so getting to a situation where it's one game on neutral ice would be awesome. Enjoy the week off and hope Berschback can use it to get fully healthy.

Blashill is certainly the COTY candidate in my book. Took an undisciplined group of players and made them a solid team in his first season. He is definitely a hot commodity in the making.
Jackson's resume' is proof enough of his coaching and recruiting ability.
I'd debate that a certain coach in A2 isn't a slouch either, considering his accomplishments, but I'll let you have your opinion as to who you think are best.
There is also a young coach in Oxford that has done terrific things, too- but has yet to grab the brass ring.

All very true. I got a little carried away with the thrill of the moment, perhaps. There are several very excellent coaches in the CCHA. One can't really say who is the best of them.

What an exceptional turn around Blashill has done. I agree with Nick about the week off. Great time to heal up for the Ferris series. Quick question, is WMU on Spring break that week, or not? Also, I may be in town for one of the games - so ticket possibilities are likely good still, eh?

Spring Break is this week.

I am excited for the possibilities. What a turnaround. The same group of guys who couldn't win a game to save their life last year rose to 4th place and a first-round bye in the CCHA playoffs. Thank you, Coach Blashill, for restoring people's faith in the program! If I wasn't expected at two major St. Patrick's Day events with my pipe and drum band that weekend, I would truly consider coming to Kalamazoo for that series. Being the one and only bass drummer, and now drum sergeant, I rather have to be with the band.

I thought after the Michigan game you said that you were not going to watch another game the rest of the season.:)

Heh. As Bronconick can vouch, the last game I saw in person was the 10-0 drubbing by the Lakers over the Broncos. It's probably better if I go to the Saturday game if WMU wins Friday. ;)

Both teams are better dressed than Walt Kyle.
