Why does Rahm Emanuel’s name keep getting brought up? He’s literally the one person the progressive wing of the party has resoundingly rejected.

To paraphrase a tweet I saw last week: It’s so easy not to hire Rahm Emanuel. In fact, I’m not hiring Rahm Emanuel right now.

There are people who keep getting jobs that I will never understand. They are such utter fails, and poison, that the idea that anybody would willingly associate with them, let alone pay them for the privilege, is beyond my comprehension.
 
His name comes up cause the media is gullible. If Kepler called Politico tomorrow and said Dubya was in line for a position they would run with it.

Its part "DEMS IN DISARRAY!!!" and it is part Biden people trolling for leaks. If he doesn't get Transportation they will find some new position he is in line for. Its what they do...

Call me when these "anonymous sources" get one right. I am still waiting for Kasich and McCain to get spots like they were spouting off about.

I doubt it. Neera already pulled her Tweets about Collins. She should be fighting this all the way with everything out there. If I was her at my hearing I would have a full slate of slides of every tweet President Trump made about any of the Senators that are still there.

the last four years seem to have proven that tweets don’t matter and this is gonna be exhausting with Rs pretending to finally care

They will make everyone care about it. It's what they do. When they care it matters. When they don't care it doesn't matter. It's why Trump increased his vote total and not a single Republican House Seat was lost this cycle. It's why John Cornyn and Susan Collins won reelection despite strong candidates put up by the Democrats.

I used to say it was around ~40% of the country that was checked out and lost. It's probably still that amount. But well over 50% of the country is actually more afraid of Democrats and their policies than anything the Trump administration or Republicans have done for the last 40 years.
 
So if I have this right: Republican senators who didn't seem to care that an OMB director illegally allowed the president to withhold congressionally mandated security assistance to a foreign ally so that the president ...... could extort personal help from the ally in support of whacked-out conspiracy theories to bolster the president's re-election campaign think it's potentially disqualifying that a nominee for that position tweeted uncomplimentary things about them.
