Speculation about the Cabinet...

No Senate members from states with R governors, so that leaves out Bernie and Liz, sorry Kep.

Susan Rice has zero chance with a Senate Majority Leader McConnell, so you need Stacey Abrams to get you to 50 in January first

If dik-hed still wants to play hardball they should just leave him in the dust. Appoint “interims” or “acting” or just leave the job open and hire “special advisors” to do the job without confirmation. It’s up to Mitch whether we go back to normalcy or accept one-party rule

Why would he allow ANY apppointments through

To demonstrate power. If you deny everyone you're a murderer. If you deny some and allow others you're a jailer.

I expect the same with court appointments. He'll confirm just enough (passive and/or old) nominees to say "Who's Your Daddy?!" Of course, he will not confirm any SCOTUS nominee.

We have to take the Senate in 2022. 21 Republicans and 13 Dems up.

Alright, so the Dems should all be decently safe. Closest calls will be Kelly in AZ (trending left, hopefully towards NV territory), Hassan in NH (not familiar with their turnout in midterms, but they just completed a GOP** trifecta at the state level) Cortez-Masto in NV (left, depends on turnout- we win if our side shows up- not sure what their midterm turnout looks like).
The GOP, Rubio, but Florida looks further out of reach than expected, Loeffler IF she wins on Jan. 5, Burr in NC (open seat- easier to win open seat), Johnson in WI (don't know the history of their turnout in midterms versus generals- but give me 2020 vs 2016 for Dems).
I’ll move any future Senate talk to the Congressional thread. Are these picks a general mixture of “moderates” and “progressive” people? From the very little I know, yes.
Edit: If I didn’t make it clear, because it doesn’t appear clear to me, hence the edit, I meant your picks for Biden’s administration, Kep.

They're all either Center or at most tepidly Center-Leftish (Insley, Rice). Nobody is strongly Liberal.

My emphasis is on technocrats or pols who need to raise their profile and are stuck in red states (Pete). Heavy on experience. Also, wherever at all possible not white males. I want high competence and experience in the key slots and then to build a bench for policy people or future candidates in the second tier. I also cut every Clintonista -- we don't need any of that clique.

The radicals' path (My Path) is through the legislature, federal and state, as gadflys, at first. Be the conscience of the party but be in the tent p-ssing out.

The Plan is:

2020 Undo the worst damage, issue EOs to revive Paris, DACA.
2022 Take the Senate. Pick up the pace. Restock the courts. Expand if SCOTUS has gone full Lochner.
2024 Joe if he's fit; Kamala if it's time. Continue moving left.

Having no choice, I have become a Gradualist.

Yes. The idea of a symbolic Republican or conservative in the cabinet is terrible. We have been entrusted by the country with power. Every cabinet post represents some responsibility of governance. Staff each with an experienced, progressive, aggressive leader.

The Senate will stonewall for two years, but we can craft and execute executive policy. Lose no opportunity to improve our government. Quickly, fully staff every office with smart, dedicated, savvy, energetic people. Turn every office into an engine for progress and liberalization.

The most conservative people I want in his cabinet are Doug Jones and Heidi heitkamp. No Rs. Need time fixing crap first
