Adrian swept this weekend, Hobart sweeps UMass Boston with a couple of yawner games, Does that make Utica the best in DIII? Also, Plattsburgh gets beat again, is it time to stop pretending that they are a viable threat?

Wouldn't say Plattsburgh is bad... but the losses to Oswego and Plymouth knock them down a few pegs. Don't know the SUNYAC too well but Oswego seems like they're in for a solid year.

Big one I'm surprised about is Endicott sweeping UNE. Know Endicott is always in contention but did not expect them to follow up an OT win with an 8-1 thrashing. Skidmore getting swept by Elmira stands out. That and Norwich getting a tie and loss vs NEC is a big red flag for the cadets...

Nice post. UNE is overrated. They play their system well, but skill just isn’t top end. They did beat Plymouth, but Plymouth is highly skilled but very selfish and undisciplined, could beat anyone, but will beat themselves. Watched them play Plattsburgh, and Plattsburgh just couldn’t keep up. Did watch Hobart play UMass Boston, they are a machine that will wear teams out, boring but very effective. Aurora has to be in the top five after this weekend. Utica still is the favorite right now. Also, would not want to play Connecticut College, dangerous team.

Longtime Oswego fan,with19 new faces The Lakers are starting to gel and Whiteout weekend wins of 5-1 vs Platty and 6-1 vs Potsdam was a nice start to the SUNYAC schedule...Lets see how they do when the rest of the conference comes into play, long season but we look good,a ton of forechecking , and crashing the net, second chance goals, great team defense and some hungry new players...Lets Go Lakers!!!

Hobart is the favorite until anyone proves otherwise.

Oswego, with that schedule, could be battle tested and be a tough out, or could cripple and end their season. Is St. Norbert for real? Or just hype?

Cheers. Not sure how UNE is looking exactly this year, but they always seemed to overperform and beat expectations in the tourney so it def surprised me.

Plymouth Is a strong team on paper but I think the chemistry isn't there yet this season. Number of new guys and a couple of solid transfers, but they keep giving up sloppy turnovers and need to do better on transitions. Goaltending seems like the biggest issue... Shantz is ok but needs a lot more experience in games, Stroebel was playing sloppy and went straight into facing UNE, Babson, Plattsburgh...

Hobart is dominant again this season, still see them as favorites over Utica. Would still give it a few weeks to see who can keep up the consistency.

Favorites took care of business this weekend. Looks like St. Norbert made a powerful statement this weekend. A bunch of teams still trying to find out if they are pretenders or legit. UW-Steven’s, Elmira, St. Scholastica, Neumann, Plymouth State. Is Buff State legit?..

Buff state is legit for the SUNYAC crown. The overall national ranks? Not sold on that one yet. SUNYAC is in a down year it seems we all knew oz was gonna take a step back but the big 3 seemingly not living up is a surprise

Didn’t help losing the historically best-program over the last 20 years in the league either.

Curry, Elmira, and Hamilton are catching my attention. All are playing well but have some big tests coming up against competitive teams (Curry has Cortland and UNE; Elmira has Hobart; Hamilton has Trinity + NESCAC and a tourney at Skidmore). Big make or break stretch before the break.

Gotta give a shout to the lowly MASCAC, looking like we might have a tight season (at least for the top half of the teams). Plymouth looks strong but ended the weekend with a messy 4-3 W against Salem... a win is a win but I don't feel great about it. Anna Maria could become a legit contender and had two solid wins against Westfield and Rivier. Fitchburg is looking to hold on to the #2 spot but dropped an OT L against UMD. Few big out-of-conference matchups before the break and then it's time to get down to business in January.

Skidmore dropping both games at their home tournament... that's a rough way to spend Thanksgiving. Oswego also leaving Utica with a loss and a tie (and dropping the exhibition shootout to UNE) wishing they had more to show.

Geneseo ended last year by getting upset in the finals by Plattsburgh and then got shut out in 1st round vs Curry. This years team is heavy with Freshman and Sophomore's. That have been winning all but two games by a goal or two. Most teams with underclassman don’t win a lot of close games, in fact typically lose them, but Geneseo has won all f them so far, surprising.

Why would Geneseo be a surprise? They are ranked #4 in the country. They are undefeated. They were supposed to win those games this past weekend.

+1.

Geneseo is a wagon....I don't argue they are young but this program has been in the upper tier of D3 for years. (and I can't wait to see how this new Geneseo/Utica rivalry will evolve).
