Weekend results

Watched Nazareth upset Hamilton. Nazareth better team, beat up Hamilton for two periods, played safe in the third and hung on for the win. Hamilton pulled a no-show in first two periods, tried to turn it up in the third, but no good. UCHC has lots of talent, maybe more than any other conference. Of note, very interesting game upcoming over winter break, with Hamilton facing Plymouth State at Norwich Christmas tourney. Will be a track meet, fun to watch, with the winner being the first team to learn to share the puck, or the first goalie to stand on his head.

Buffalo State has a chance to make a statement tonight that they belong in the conversation if they can pull out a victory against Trine. Played well last night and almost pulled it out. If they lose tonight, Buff State probably moves into the “nice try, wait til next year” team.

Nazareth impressed me when I watched them beat Elmira.
 
Another good weekend of college hockey. Message to pollsters, any school with a UW- in its name, doesn’t deserve to be in the top 15. Buff State got exposed. First half of season: Hobart and Geneseo are the class, St. Norbert, Trine and Trinity right there. Wilkes and Aurora not getting respect that they deserve. Jury still out on Utica and Adrian. Plymouth, Curry, and Hamilton are wildcards. All three have tons of talent but something is not right. 2nd half spoilers to look out for is Anna Maria, big team that has an awesome goalie that can steal a game, Neumann night surprise in the MAC.

Holiday tourney weekend. Hamilton was the big winner taking out Plymouth and Norwich at Norwich. Note to Plymouth Coach, you’re team isn’t good. Trinity losing to a so so Babson team. St. Norbert gets roasted by UW-Stout 6-2. Sweet upset by UW-Stout, Norbert should be embarrassed and get knocked down a bunch of spots in rankings. UW River Falls ousted by Augsburg, way to show up to play boys.

Plymouth still managed to light up Williams 8-2 in the consolation. Know Williams isn't the best NESCAC school, but coming from a competitionless MASCAC and getting that convincing of a win shows there's potential. Didn't watch the Northfield Tourney but know they still desperately need to play consistently and improve transitions.

Salem also had a big upset over Middlebury to win in Boston (so... maybe not competitionless). Colby managed a 4-3 W against UNE in UNE's first game back for the new year.
 
Wentworth knocks of Wilkes in OT for 3rd in the Cardinal Classic @Plattsburgh McGovern was stellar in net and had an all tournament type performance.

UCHC average for top 2 teams 2.5 bottom 4 teams 49. The UCHC comissioner mightve been playing accidental 4d chess with playing each conference opponent 4 times because all 6 teams have an astronomical sos compared to everyone adrian and UNE are the only 2 teams within even 10% of uchc schools. The stats make it seem like theyre a top 2 conference in the country when in reality we all know its 2 juggernauts, naz who is mid but somehows beats good teams and loses to bad teams, and 3 other teams who huff their own farts and are the reason why shampoo bottles need instructions.

You could do this for every conference. Take out Oswego and Cortland and the bottom 6 of the SUNY averages a 70. Are you going to sit there and say that is a better conference than the UCHC?
