Have to disagree somewhat with Arlan! Here is my predicted order of finish in the standings this year:

1. Minnesota
2. North Dakota
3. Wisconsin
4. UMD
5. Ohio State (tie)
Minnesota State (tie)
7. Bemidji State
8. St. Cloud State

OSU 2 - UMD 1 after one. UMD looking rather anemic and should be glad to have closed the gap with around 7 minutes left in the period on their 3rd shot on goal!

Re: WCHA Thread III

OSU beats UMD 3-1 in Duluth. Wow, what a crappy game. UMD ends up with 17 shots on goal and that's not going to win many games. But a bunch of credit to the Buckeyes who played a hell of a game and shut down the Bulldogs offense early and often.

Agree. OSU's first goal 55 seconds into the game off of Wong's defensive error seemed to set the tone for the game. They certainly dominated the first and third periods. The 'Dog defence seemed confused, disjuncted and basically, non-existent.

OSU was solid especially in their own end taking away time and space (which was made worse by UMD's struggling to connect with passes and having nightmares trying to get out of their own end) and certainly deserved the game.
