Congrats to the Mavs! what a great years run you had. we almost caught you. take care of that pretty trophy, we are coming for it next year!
Bowling Green sure likes to play the pasty teams in the playoffs.
Mark Evans seems to think that it's not a bad idea...(just stated so on the TV6 broadcast).
Obviously I'm not advocating for it, I don't want any more L's rung up on the season. The 'Cats need W's, because now (almost) every game through April 11th is an elimination game.

So the team that just went to Bowling Green and swept them two weeks ago is a patsy?
thanks for catching that! Too early on Sunday! The "pasty" comment is actually pretty good now that I read it right. Always a good trip to Ohio. Good town, great fans!he said "pasty", not "patsy".
but hey you're sensitive, we get it. you don't like criticism of those meat pies.
or maybe it's your unhealthy UP skin tone?
congrats to Dan DeSalvo for notching 100 collegiate pts. last night!
and to Brandon Hawkins for clinching top WCHA freshman scorer with 14-14-28.

Not a great playoff for visiting fan travel: NMU/BGSU 509 miles, Mankato/LSSU 619, Ferris/Bemidji 752 & UAH/Tech 1020...glad the league made the final weekend all match ups with nearest rivals.
I wonder if the Beavers feel fortunate they're not traveling to Fairbanks. The Nanooks seem pretty invincible the past few weeks.
Had the exact same thought last night. They are essentially a 20 win team on the sidelines.
Congrats Mavs.
Good luck to all the WCHA teams in the post season. Except for UAH of course.

Speaking of predictions, I thought I'd drag these out from last fall:
Coaches' Poll
1. Minnesota State (9) 81
2. Ferris State (1) 67
Crossing my fingers that Tech is not next season's Ferris State, with the seniors they are losing. Whether or not they're still in the top 4 will probably depend on any early departure by a certain elite goaltender.
But still more hockey to play this year, so we'll enjoy the ride.

I hear you on that! MSU has had a lot of the same core for the last 3 years. We've lost a 20 goal scorer each of the last 2 years, but the main setup man returned. Next year is the great unknown.
I'm surprised about how far Ferris fell off from last year. Yes, I know they were only a couple of points away from home ice, but when you look at their results, they really struggled with goals and significant wins. They were 11-1 against the bottom 3 teams in the conference, and 2-13-1 against everyone else.
