Well, it's that time of year again, so I thought I'd post a predictions thread for the playoffs.

First Round:
#12 Michigan Tech @ #1 North Dakota - North Dakota in 2
#11 Mankato @ #2 Denver - Denver in 2
#10 Bemidji @ #3 UNO - UNO in 3
#9 SCSU @ #4 UMD - SCSU in 3
#8 UAA @ #5 Minnesota - Minnesota in 2
#7 UW @ #6 CC - Wisconsin in 3

Final Five:
Quarterfinals:
#3 UNO vs #9 SCSU - #9 SCSU
#5 Minnesota vs #7 Wisconsin - #5 Minnesota

Semfinals:
#2 Denver vs #9 SCSU - #9 SCSU
#1 North Dakota vs #5 Minnesota - #1 North Dakota

Finals:
#1 North Dakota vs #9 SCSU - #1 North Dakota

I agree with what you have but I have SCSU and MN playing for the championship

SCSU was utterly clueless against UNO this season, nearly getting swept at home and actually doing so in Omaha. They eked out a tie against UNO in one of their home games--where they also blew a third period lead.

In the process, SCSU got shut out, TWICE, and blew a 3 goal third period lead in another game in Omaha. SCSU was outscored 14-7 and got outshot 151-101, overall.

Now, they all of a sudden have UNO figured out and are going to vanquish them in the tournament?

I'm not talkin' trash, I'm just talkin' truths.

You're right. I bet Omaha beats SCSU 13-0 en route to their first national championship. :rolleyes:

Sioux in 1. They win 8-2 on Friday, and Tech agrees to just split it into two, 4-1 scores for both games and get back on the bus a day early.

But wouldldn't North Dakota play SCSU in the semifinals since SCSU would be the lowest seed remaining. so they would get UND in the semifinals and Minnesota would get Denver. remember, they reseed after the first round.

I never said that.

However, those that forget the past are condemned to repeat it.

The past results speak for themselves.

SCSU all of a sudden got SO much better and UNO all of a sudden got SO much worse?

The same UNO team Coached by Dean Blais that leads the nation in shots on goal, shots on goal versus shots allowed differential, and shutouts?

I'm listening. Tell me why.

Meanwhile, UNO is #6 in Pairwise.

Respect is something earned, not some sort of "we're playing well lately--even though we finished 9th" birthright.

I made a safe, but bold bet though. MTU wins the series, I sport a UND uni, photo proof. And you know my feelings on UND...
